It was a case of needing two so this purchase augmented the one already in use. I knew what to expect and got what I expected.

I felt inclined to review this based on all of the negative reviews. I've using this for well over a year and I'm so happy. Love the larger size. As other reviewers stated, it's not good for mopping, just swiffering. The xlarge swiffer refills are too expensive also, so just get the standard size refills from a big box store and use two. Two fit perfect and it ends up being much cheaper. As long as you know this and don't plan on mopping with it you'll be very happy. My floors have never been cleaner on a daily basis! The larger size is so much for efficient than the standard!

I was looking to replace my Swiffer Max. I tried subsituting a regular swiffer but it took so much longer to dust my floors. Most of my house is hardwood, so I swiffer much more often than I vacuum. The XL size only needs a couple swipes and it reaches all under the beds. I will still use the regular size, for small spaces like the bathrooms, but the XL is wonderful. The Swiffer Max cloths fit this so I don't need to immediately buy a bunch of refills.

we have used the standard swiffer product for years on our tile floors. since the whole downstairs is tile, we go through the swiffer cloths to complete the job. with this product and larger wet cloths, it cut the time on the job in half. the minor annoyance is that since the pad is larger, sometimes it is harder to get the pad into narrower places. time will tell...great product and delivery.

update: we have used this larger swiffer several times. we used the standard wet swiffer cloths and need two for the larger mop head. there is a slight overlap, but since we turn the cloths over you still get double use. we have found out that the double cloths that overlap in the middle have a great use. since it is double, the liquid gets squeezed out each time you push down on the mop. we used only two cloths for the whole tile floor as the liquid did not dry up as fast as the old single mop head cloths. in the past, the small head single swiffer cloths ranged from 3 to 5 per cleaning of our tile floor. also, there was more mopping action because of the smaller head and obviously more changing of the smaller cloths.
our next step will be to use a spray bottle full of the swiffer citrus liquid. since the larger cloths online that are dry can be used as a wet mop.

Things I like about it:
1) It is very good at picking up dust and pet fur
2) It is very easy to use
3) This gets into small spaces that a broom and dustpan typically can't (like under a dresser or fridge)

Things I dislike about it:
1) It can't pick up slightly larger things like pebbles, salt bits, etc. so I still need to use a broom and dustpan for the things it can't pick up
2) I go through the pads pretty quickly, so it gets costly with a couple of pets and a couple of people occupying the same space
