Uneven legs make it unstable and unsafe
Kristen Neufeld✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 22, 2017
This would be a great step ladder if it weren't for the fact that the legs are uneven. Because of that, the ladder rocks back and forth when you're on it. It's unstable and feels unsafe, especially when you're standing on that top step. I am keeping it for now and using it very cautiously until I can get to a store and try one out before I buy it.
Sturdy and lightweight

Lightweight, strong and sturdy, and I feel secure when I use it. I bought the 2-step stool from Amazon after purchasing the taller 3-step Cosco step stool from a retail seller. I like the way the top step clicks and locks into place - I know when it is fully open and it feels very secure. Highly recommend.
Is this the ladder for me?
BubbaJune 3, 2017
Let me clarify here that the one I purchased is a different model than this one that I purchased at my local warehouse which sounds like the manufacturer of this product for 14.99 on sale after 5.00 off. Mine is exactly the same except mine has aluminum steps. I will just talk about my opinion of the design.

This one here weighs 7.5 lbs. and the one I have weighs 9 lbs. Mine is really light and easily moved around with one hand and opened and collapsed with one hand if needed. Collapsed it stands 51 inches tall, 3 inches thick and 19.25 inches wide. Opened it measures 48.25 inches tall, 28.25 inches from front to back and 19.25 inches side to side. The first step is about 15.75 x 3, second step is about 14.75 x 3 and the platform is about 13 inches side to side and the about 10.75 front to back. The Ladder reach is estimated at 8 ft 10 inches for a 5 ft. 6 in. person. Also mine can hold 250 lbs. and this one is rated at 225 labs I believe.

Now to my thoughts. You need to go to the store and try out a step ladder made of steel and one of aluminum and also try one with the narrow steps and one with wider platform steps and you will understand more what I am talking about. Also I am basing this off of a three step ladder. The aluminum ones are extremely light and you can easily move them around and operate where the steel ones are more of a two handed deal. The narrow steps are not comfortable to stand on for long time and you feel your feet and calves trying to keep you balanced which isn't good if you are doing something and trying to keep steady for a long period of time. The top platform however is stable if you are standing on it.

The step ladders with wide platform steps are more safe as you can get a better footing and you are stable on any step you use. But with this comes a little added weight and price so that is the trade off. Now as to which one to get is based on your fitness and what you are using it for mainly and what you plan to use it for and store it. If you plan to use it a lot for light duty grabbing things off a high shelf or maneuvering in awkward places then the lighter aluminum ladder is the way to go. If you need it to get to heavier objects or need it to do a lot of projects where you need more stability then get the platform steps or steel step ladder with platform steps.

There are 3 step ladders with a built in tray to hold paint cans and tools also and 4 step ladders but they add more weight and about 8 to 10 inches in height which makes them harder to maneuver and store. The tray feature is nice to have but some are useless because they are too small or look like Swiss cheese because they have a lot of holes to place your screw drivers, drills and hammers in. If you use it with tools often then it is fine, but if you want the tray to hold cleaning supplies or something then you need to look around. Now you need to also tryout each ladder with a tray if that's what you are looking for at the store because some trays are placed in a position that you can't easily dip a paintbrush into the paint can because the handle is in the way because it angles out directly over the tray or you have to step down the ladder to be able to see inside the tray to look for something because the handle is in the way.

it's sufficiently sturdy and light enough for me to carry up/down 3 flights of stairs. product description was slightly off regarding folded width. the 2 bottom rungs jutted out wider than the aluminum frames. so, turns out the width or thickness of the folded step stool is more like 3-1/8". i couldn't fit it in the space between by refrigerator and wall as intended. found an alternate way to store it though by hanging it over my ironing board that hangs behind my laundry room door.
this step stool is very sturdy, and easy to fold/unfold

when you are only 5'4", everything is out of reach. this way, I am not always after hubby to 'reach it for me'.

this step stool is very sturdy, and easy to fold/unfold. it's this right height for me to reach all the upper cabinets and pantry shelves.
