The Quiksilver Men's Pierside Straw Sun Hat arrived with a hole in the top (see first photo). The straw was very dry and brittle. The box showed no damage, so I think this damage happened prior to shipment. I do like the cowboy shape of the hat and the neck draw string is nice and has a nice cincher bead. Just picking up the hat out of the box I could hear the straw breaking. I sprayed it inside and out several times with Old English Lemon Oil Furniture Polish, 12 fl oz Bottle (from hardware store) and at least I can pick it up and wear it without hearing it break (see second photo). The oil seeps into the straw, moisturizes it and makes it more flexible. Someone who works with straw hats, baskets or wicker furniture may have a better solution. It is unacceptable to have to fix a brand new item. At least I will get some use out of it.

The BF has a huge melon, hard to find a sun hat for him. His buddy gave him this huge hat a couple years ago, and he wore it till he wore it out. He was bummed that he didn't think he could get another one, cause he's pretty fair, and cancer is always an issue when you work in the blazing sun. I bought him this one, the new version of the old one. Looks good, better than the other goofy hat he had, and gives him more coverage. Winner for big headed guys.

I bought this for my boyfriend and after a few days the stitching started coming undone. The straw was all sticking out and looked very tacky. I called Amazon and they took care of the issue (Their customer service is AMAZING) - but I personally wouldn't purchase this again.

Ive worn it for a couple days now and I really like it. The bill is really flat, kinda wish it was a little more floppy but otherwise its a really nice hat. I have a really big head and this stretches out just enough and is comfy. Would definitely buy it again.

The hat fit perfect and I was happy with the style, but the hat came boxed With other products and the brim was bent and the reeds or bamboo
Or whatever the hat is made of was cracked on two seperate places, kind of annoying, but not worth the hassle of returning, usually Amazon does a great job of packing products I don't know why it was so cramped this time.
