I got this for making curries and it tasted more like fresh than any coconut milk I've had from a can. One of the packages had cream separation like others have mentioned. I'm not using it for beverages or cold dishes so this isn't a problem for me. The cream will melt back into the milk at around 100°F so just put it into a saucepan, heat it, stir, and let it cool before using it in your smoothie or whatever. It's unreasonable to expect perfect consistency from an additive-free natural product. If you want each package to be exactly the same, you'll have to accept additives (emulsifiers).

While I love that this product is all-natural, free of gums and stabilizers or sweeteners or even added water, and comes in cardboard packaging (rather than a can), there's a downside to all of this natural business: it's a bit annoying to use!

No matter how much you shake it, the solids and liquid stay separated, so you end up having to kind of pour out the liquid and dig out some of the solid fats and stir it together before adding it to whatever you're planning on adding it to. I've never used up an entire package at once (a little goes a long way and I'm usually cooking for just 1 or 2 people) and I find that it's actually hard to use up 1 package within the two-day freshness limit. I haven't tried this yet, but perhaps dumping it all into a high-speed blender before use to integrate the product would help a lot with the consistency.

Overall I'm really glad this option exists, and I don't feel like the company is deceiving anyone, but now I understand why other coconut milks are full of additives: for ease of use. I would rather have the extra hassle if it means the coconut milk I consume is additive-free, but not everyone agrees (or is sensitive to all the gyms and stabilizers). Make the best choice for yourself!

This is a good product as it is 100% pure coconut milk with none of the additives you will find in almost all similar products on the market. It is rich in flavor and creaminess. However, since it is pure coconut milk, some of the packages I have received have come with a solid block of the coconut milk in them. There is some liquid part to it as well, but it has chunks in it so it is not appetizing to put into your drinks or recipes etc. Then the second half has been a big block. I have read other reviews that say you can just put it all into a blender to remedy this problem and that it may be due to cold temperatures during shipping? The blender may fix this issue but the additional step of getting out the blender, blending, washing it etc. is a lot to do just to have some coconut milk in your beverages or recipes. I live in a warm climate but am unsure how far it travels.
It would be great if it was not hardened like this but it is not clear to me if it is just certain batches or this is just how it is given the 100% coconut milk ingredient.

I read a review somewhere that said to take the carton and dilute it with two times the amount of water. I thought I would put it in the blender to blend it up- I somehow made homemade coconut butter. Because I had accidentally taken all the fat out I added just a small pinch of sugar and a little bit of vanilla to the remaining milk. My boys went crazy over it! We also added vanilla and a small pinch of sugar to the butter and put it over fresh berries and it was absolutely delicious! One of the best mistakes I ever made.

Love Love this particular brand. I was looking for a smooth and creamy coconut milk without any additives and without BPA, etc. I buy in the 8oz size primarily for freshness and because right out of an unrefrigerated box it pours smoothly and doesn't clump at room temperature. Once opened, IF there is any leftovers, I transfer to a Mason Jar with a pouring spout (love the reCaps for this purpose) so I can shake vigorously before portioning out for my next use.
