So far so good.

It's smaller than it seems in the pictures, but that's a good thing. Fairly easy to clean the surfaces that hold the water, but I worry how well the tubing and pump will stay clean over time. It didn't take long to drop the first bit of ice and after about 4-5 hours, the bin was full. The ice is a little bit wet in the bin because of the nature of this type of design. Water continuously runs down the face of the metal grate and due to it being cooled below freezing, water freezes on it and continues to build as the water runs across. This results in the ice being fairly clear compared to other makers and ice trays. I don't keep it running all the time because it draws 150-200 watts. The important thing is that it takes all the work out of making ice save for keeping it clean.
Great but requires a little work

This is the best! Very cheap price! It doesn't have a drain so it doesn't need to empty into a floor drain. It doesn't keep the ice cold by itself so it needs to be emptied. But for the price, you can't beat it! It does take a little work. I pour in a pitcher of filtered water, and take out the ice it makes, bag it, and put it in the close freezer. I have it down on the basement bar counter where I work so I can watch it and the little noise it makes is not a problem. I run it for a day. I keep filling it up with water and can make about 3 bags full in a day. I wait a week to make more. I rinse it out with hot water and start over. It makes great CLEAR ice squares which are delicious in drinks.
Makes great ice but doesn't last. Lack of filter made slime.

I've had this for one year and one month now, using it daily to make ice that's perfect for iced coffee. I paid $240, felt it was worth it, and I loved it for that entire year. But last week it started making a grumbling noise, so I called their customer service. The agent was friendly and offered to repair it, but it would cost $160 in shipping.
Instead, I took the machine apart in hopes that a deep clean would resolve the issue. When I opened it up, and snipped the cable ties holding the tubes on, it was disgusting inside. The hoses are filled with slime.
I cleaned the unit regularly (both with vinegar and diluted dish soap as recommended in the guide). We never use our hands to scoop the ice, only a clean scooper. We use filtered water. But the "filters" on the machine are simply small plastic strainers and only filter things larger than a grain of rice. So I shouldn't have been surprised when I found this gross slime inside.

Wow, you guys are good. After I received a machine 58days pump stop working, even I follow the direction to clean. Defected pump. I contacted Luma, by e-mail, I got reply back and I had question in my mind. I was wondering what is this charge on $192, it's a shipping, and Ezzy, said, Oh!, no problem, would you like to take advantage of warranty? If we can not repair we will mail you a brand new ice maker. There will be $192 for shipping and handling for round trip. "You may purchase a Prepaid FedEx Label for returning the unit to our California service center. An additional charge of $192Â Â will apply. Please contact our customer support line if you would like to purchase a label." And I said no thank you, $192 plus $20 more dollar then I can order new one. I read review before I purchased. It wasn't good, but I tried anyway. No returning at this after 58 days. No pride for the merchandise, that's how you rip off right!? Smart!! It is going to dumpster. Wow, you guys are very good! That's how you do business! And she said claim closed. Wow.
Good unit. Worth the money. Using it for about 1 week.

Very happy with the unit. There was some confusion on my part how to stop the ice making cycle but once that was sorted out it woKS like a charmp.
It makes clear cubes using tap or bottled spring water. There is about a 8~10 minute startup cycle before the first cubes are dropped and hen they drop at about a 7~8 minute interval. I'm sure the 28lb claim is easily met as long as you refill the water and empty the ice bin.
I did contact their Customer Service about how to shut the unit off and received an overnight reply with and offer to exchange the unit if we could not resolve the issue.
When the unit is operating and you wish to suspend ice making Press the Power.button. The unit goes into a "Standby" mode and the green power light starts blinking. To resume making ice Press the Power button (hold for more than 5 seconds for thick cubes) and ice making will restart with the first cubes in about 8~10 minutes.
