Doesn't work with Smarthome or ISY controllers
Dennis M. McCreery✓ Verified Purchase•July 11, 2018
Doesn't work well. Tried two of these (returned the first one). Connects fine initially, but when I try to remove it from the network and reconnect it, it doesn't respond thereafter. Tried factory reset, no help. Tried this with two Z-Wave controllers (Smarthome and ISY) and both act the same way. Don't get this if you're looking for a trouble-free installation.
This product worked fine with my custom z-wave based system

This product worked fine with my custom z-wave based system, which includes an Aeotec z-stick 2 controller and multiple dimmable LED bulbs. However, I was somewhat disappointed that this unit doesn't have a three-prong outlet, as advertised in the pictures. Also, there are two inclusion modes, so make sure you choose the correct one for your controller. Not certain about how many levels of brightness it provides, since that might be a function of the LEDs.
Misleading - NOT Z-Wave Plus?

This didn't work in my application because the range is insufficient. 130ft LOS (line of sight) in the specs may be accurate, but Z-Waze radio waves can bend around corners and penetrate walls, etc., but certainly not enough just to connect to my nearest hub a storey a way, or nearest Z-Waze Plus sensor a couple of rooms away on the same floor. Also the Z-Wave sticker on the device is not Z-Wave Plus but just Z-Wave. The product description here looks to be quite misleading.
A great dimmer module.

I bought this to use with a little lamp that's just too small for a "smart bulb". It's perfect. There is an outlet at each end so that one item can be plugged in to use with a smart hub and the other is a straight outlet. The small button in the center allows you to turn off the "smart" aspect if needed. I've paired this with our SmartThings hub, a motion sensor and Alexa. The lamp turns on at motion and turns off again after 15 minutes. Using Alexa, I can turn on/off/dim the lamp whenever I want and the module handles it all.

Works very nicely. I have a dimmer floor-standing lamp plugged in to it. It has one side that is controllable by z-wave and one side that is just off and on so you have to make sure it is plugged into the right side. I also had to make sure the actual lamp was turned on to the highest brightness setting manually for it to automatically brighten to that level. But after all that, now I can control it with my Smartthings app and Alexa. And, it is the same price as one of the smart bulbs I have been trying. However, this allows me to use a normal bulb in the lamp and therefore it is much brighter than using a smart bulb which most of them are only equivalent to a 60 watt bulb. I like to produce much more light than that so this was the way to go. If you are wanting to control a lamp but not compromise on brightness, this will do the job.
