Has anyone on here seen the 'Malcom in the Middle' episode where they find the new magic bed, but then reject it because they realize they are sleeping their days away and go back to their crappy mattress? This mattress, is the magic mattress that falls from the sky.... except I have not learned my lesson and I am keeping it!!! (Hal's Dentist - Season 7 ep 17).
I have owned this mattress for just about 1 year now, and it is the single greatest purchase I have made. My boyfriend and I love this mattress so much, we joke that we will have to have a custody battle over it if we ever break up.
Personal Background:
I am a spreadsheet person. Before buying anything, I do extensive research and create charts, carefully researching my product. Now, I was extremely nervous to buy a mattress online, especially one that I would not be able to see in person first. I knew I needed to get a mattress that was a medium, I prefer softer that provides resistance (not too soft) and the boyfriend likes firm.
I remember I was down to this and one other on amazon, I have looked everywhere on the chart, but it doesn't indicate what actually made me pick this one. I believe I was glamoured by the 14 inches... in my mind, even though this was advertised on the medium side, the extra size would make it softer, I know, I am a head case. So the box arrived. By the way, do not pick this thing up at an alternative location. I was moving, and it was going to arrive before I had the keys, so I had to contact the shipping people and have them hold it until I picked it up. I drive a Ford Focus (2009) and this thing only fit in my car thanks to sheer stubbornness and a window down. The box is huge, do not think it will go willingly into an average sedan. Also, the box weighs a ton. Since we picked up the box ourselves, we then had to carry it up the stairs by ourselves. It ships with prime, just let someone else to the heavy lifting for you. The box opened easily enough with a box cutter, removed the plastic, and yes, it smelled a little. We opened the window and let it rise while we unpacked the rest of the apartment. The smell lasted all of a week, and it wasn't unbearable by any means.
Cue Present Day:
This mattress sits on an ikea frame (something that initially made me very nervous due to it's size and weight, RECOMMENDATION: PUT IT ON THE BED FRAME WHEN YOU ARE LETTING IT GET BIGGER. We didn't build our frame until after we had the mattress out and fluffy and THAT was a mistake.).
Sheets: I have YET to find sheets that will stay on this mattress. After realizing that the average sheet could not cover the sides, I went out at purchased some deep pocket sheets.... then some extra deep pocket sheets. The extra deep pocket sheets actually cover the entire thing, but I still have problems keeping the fitted sheet on it (maybe once a week I have to re-pull it down over the corners)
Plush: It is a true medium plush. There is not so much "give" as there is support. Yes, if you sit on the edge it will give more then if you sit in the middle, but that is how memory mattress's work, if you don't like that, look at pillow-tops.
This mattress is the best thing that ever happened to my sleep, and the worst thing that ever happened to my work punctuality. I don't ever want to get out of bed. We both avoid the bed until it is time to go to sleep, otherwise we will never leave it. Having a bad day? I think I'll go faceplant on the bed and just bask in it's awesomeness for a while. Even now, 1 year later, laying on the bed at the end of the day, we will both remark to each other about how this is the best mattress ever. Waking-up in the morning is a different experience, getting out of bed is terrible. I can't do it! If you are not a morning person this will only exacerbate the problem. My boyfriend, the morning person, now has to set 3 alarms to get out of bed and remarks it is the best sleep he has ever had.

Quick initial impression of my Dynasty mattress is that the quality of the product is very good; comparable to the Tempurpedic (sp?) I owned a few years back. Package came on time, actually a day earlier than expected. Bed frame came a day after the mattress, on time, so no complaints about the shipping except the cardboard packaging in which the mattress was delivered was pretty beat up...UPS probably to blame for that. However, the mattress was double wrapped in very robust plastic so no damage to the product whatsoever. Opened the package and left the mattress expand for about 36 hours and did so without issue. One thing of particular note was that I experienced NO off odors from the foam whatsoever..AT ALL. Came home from work this morning and assembled the frame and got the mattress in place and adorned with fresh new sheets. Laid down for about 5 minutes and was amazed at how comfortable this mattress is ALREADY! For those that have reviewed this mattress and have called it FIRM, I'm not sure I totally agree with that. It behaves like a memory foam mattress should. Anyhow..matter of opinion of course. First full night sleep for the wife and I will be tonight so I will edit this review after a couple nights but I expect nothing short of coma-like slumber. More to come but so far I am very happy with the purchase.

Great Buy, Comparable to Cloud Luxe Breeze

Had the mattress 2 weeks now and so far it is fantastic! There was a bit of an odor at first but it didn't bother us. The mattress took about 2 hours to get back to shape when we unrolled it, and we try to walk all over it everyday to soften it up as we were told to do with memory foam mattresses for the first few weeks. We bought a SleepNumber before this and returned it as it was not the sleep solution we were sold on, but this mattress seems to be every bit as good as the Tempur Cloud Luxe Breeze, though not quite as soft. This may become that soft after getting it completely broken down from walking on it sufficient times. The cooling gel definitely will cool you down,so I would rhave comment an extra blanket at your feet to keep your toes warm. Overall, this has been a great buy and we are glad we gave this economical choice a try! Saved so much money from buying at bedding retail store.
Will try to describe the mattress, not the ordering expereince.

Initial review: I will update as time goes on. Just received this mattress 3 days ago (2 nights sleep so far). I won't waste time on the box or how easy it is to open. A few minutes opening is not relevant to a bed you will use for years. Initial impression is this is a quality constructed mattress. Very nice cover, heavy (100+ lbs) and substantial. Though you don't get to see it often, the cover is really nice! After giving an hour or so to expand, tried it out for a few minutes. Though many reviewers here say it is very firm, this is not a good description. The top layer is gel memory foam, and is very soft. The middle layers are 'egg crate' foam, and allow for significant compression (so, also rather soft). Bottom layer is hard base foam. When first pressing into the mattress with a hand or knee, there is great 'give.' Knee will sink in about 4 inches. Based on this, it is a 'soft' mattress. But, one doesn't sleep on a knee. When prone (and weight is distributed over a larger area) the mattress is much more 'firm' and supportive. Still soft to the feel, but after the initial sink in (maybe inch at most) it is quite firm. This is probably what other reviews mean by firm. When sitting on edge, there is significant give -- can't sit easily to dress or what have you without a good 4-5 inch give in the foam. Also, the foam at the corners at the bottom of mattress (same for all 4 corners) has not expanded fully, and is pulled up off our bed's wood platform by the cover. That is, the cover appears slightly too small, and does not allow the foam in the corners to fully expand. Again, this is initial review, so that may change over time. Doesn't impact the functionality of the mattress though. As for first 2 nights rest, sleep was not impaired by the firmness or softness of the mattress. Seemed to be in the top tier of all mattresses I've tried over the years (at home or in other venues). Don't feel assessment of sleep can be solely attributed to a mattress, since so many other factors are involved. But, with that caveat, this mattress was very comfortable to sleep on, with no noticeable physical problems (didn't hurt back or neck, etc.) in any way. In sum, seems like a very good mattress. Remain hopeful that with full expansion (stated by manufacturer to take up to 72 hours) the top will be slightly less soft with focused pressure, or at the edges. Will update as time goes on.
Jan 22, 2017 update: Been about a month, and the initial softness on focused pressure remains. Despite this, still a very comfortable mattress. Edges also still just a soft and unsupportive for sitting. Need to put those socks on in a chair instead. Though at first there was no odor, after a couple days the chemical smell reported by others became more noticeable. Can't smell it unless you put your face within inches of the mattress; head on a pillow is pretty close to the mattress surface, but even then smell is only noticeable sometimes. I assume it will dissipate over time. We ordered some new sheets as our old ones would not fit the depth (though they were supposed to be for deep mattresses). New sheets are claimed to fit up to 18" depth, but barely make it over the entire mattress. Measurement (yes I did) finds the depth to be the claimed 14". So I guess it is the sheets that is the issue. All in all, still very happy with the choice. If it wasn't so difficult to return such an item, I might consider getting a 'firmer' option, but would probably decide against it in the end. Will continue to update over time.
