Spring corrodes and discolors shampoo

This pump gets the shampoo out smoothly BUT within 6 months of purchase the metal spring mechanism started to corrode, discoloring the shampoo (making clear shampoo a dark brown) and giving it a metallic smell. Not nice. I have to pump out the shampoo that has been sitting in the area where the spring is before I can get clean shampoo to wash my hair. Very wasteful.

The gallon of shampoo I'm using this with should last for years then I'll just move this pump to the new gallon of shampoo, put it back under the sink and keep pumping and filling up little travel-sized fluid containers (every other week or so) and just keep those in the shower with me. It's the best way to do it, IMO.

This has been a good product, in fact I'm going to reorder. You can figure out the amount of each press. It is different for different condiments but it's good to know that perhaps 1 button push could be ¼ cup or what ever you measure.

I bought this to go along with a gallon-sized Tabasco sauce jug. It was made for the same size bottle. Works great, no problems at all, unlike with some other brands. So while it's made for cosmetic industry, it apparently is food safe.

I bought it to dispense body wash from a gallon sized jug I purchased. It gets stuck occasionally. It looks like there will probably be a bit of soap at the bottom of the jug that it won't be able to reach. Overall, it does its job.
