Surprisingly great picture

Had an earlier one of these (different brand) that worked well for a number of years, until a power spike ruined it. Read a lot of the reviews for this product category on Amazon (no clear leader emerged) and decided to try this model. Couldn't be happier! The picture looks fantastic on an old cast off 1024x768 display. Even 16:9 content coming in on the RCA video input looks great and is in the proper aspect ratio (just press the resolution mode button several times to try all the choices until you're happy). Highly recommend this model. It even came with cables.

Disappointed that the picture for my old Super Nintendo is near black and white with poor coloring. I tried adjusting the monitor and the device to no avail.
On the other hand Play Station 2 and Nintendo 64 it is picture perfect. They all use the same yellow cable, and even the exact same cables for the SNES and N64. But alas, it's a bust if you want to play vintage Mario.
