Update 2017. Increased to 5 stars since I really wanted to test durability. I left one of these and the trellis by the same company outside for the winter. They made it through snow and high wind like a charm. The only I would suggest to the company us what another review stated. They could stand to make the legs into the ground a bit longer.

Only giving 4 stars until I see how they work then will update. The best part of these is they just sort of pop open. You don't have to hook on side to the other, just open them and in the ground so that is a great plus. They do suggest to use some stakes you can purchase on their website but the steel edging pins will work just as well and less expensive. I might suggest that they think about making the part that goes into the ground longer. Even though there are many, they do not seem long enough to hug into the ground without pinning them in. They are WAY shorter than your average round cages where the part that goes in the ground goes much deeper. They are overall stronger than what I have seen in home stores. If they work well, I'll get more since I also use them for other veggies.

Update. Made it through the summer like a charm. My tomato plants were massive, over 5 feet tall. Unlike the ones at the home stores, the did not bend or break. Okay the tomatoes did break at the top that was not supported but I doubt they designed them for plants that tall. I just cut the tops off the tomatoes since they starting snapping. Teardown was really simple since they are big enough to cut the stalks, then you just pick them out when the plant is removed, put them on the ground and by themselves collapse. I zip tied them and put them up against a garage wall. The will unpop with storage if you don't secure them together. Will order more for next year. Don't waste your money on the stuff at the home stores, these are the way to go.

I used Gardener's Supply Lifetime Tomato Cages to support both determinate and indeterminate cherry tomato plants that I grew in cedar rectangular raised beds, and they were superb!
These cages are made from heavy gauge steel with a powder coated finish so they are smooth to the touch and eliminated the need for tying the delicate plant stems to them. The cages have nice large openings to allow easy access when harvesting tomatoes. They are very sturdy and are able to provide support to a heavy laden plant with fruit, without collapsing. The square cage supports the plant on all sides, thereby allowing for better air circulation, reducing diseases, and keeps the fruit from touching the ground, and thus, remaining unblemished.
My cages have held up well for the past 6 months being exposed to the elements (numerous thunderstorms, wind, heat) and they show no signs of rust or wear.
The best thing about these cages is that the pieces can be used individually (so you can still support that one lone branch), or connect to form a square cage. They are very easy to install, (just push the legs into the ground), and can be folded flat for easy storage.
These cages are the same as Gardener's Supply Company Pepper and Eggplant Cages, Set of 3 except that these Lifetime Tomato cages are larger overall, (taller and wider openings). I think they can be used to support bell peppers and eggplants as well.
Overall these cages provided excellent plant support for a bountiful harvest. A+

To use with round zucchini plants in pots on a table. Will hold up the weight of the fruit and the heavy leaves of the plant. Because of being above ground level will catch the wind easier causing more stress against the plant.

Tomatoes, beans, etc. green color blends well with landscape.
