I injured my back, likely due to the weight of my duty belt, and was looking for a way to alleviate some of the pain as I recover. At the recommendation of my doctor, I got the weight off my waist. Boy was that great advice.
This harness is comfortable, and securely fastens to my 2.25" duty belt. The keepers are thin nylon webbing that don't create a bulge like the standard leather belt keepers. A nice touch since a bulge in the middle of a sore back doesn't help matters. The adjustments on the straps are easily tuned to fit, but secure enough that they don't slip throughout the shift. The union on the back is low profile so you don't feel it in your spine when you sit in the car.
I wear this under my external vest carrier, and you can't even tell I have it on. The straps are barely noticeable coming up from the keepers. If you position them behind your magazine pouch, asp or other tools that stick up a bit, you can't see them at all. I don't wear any gear on my back so I can't hide them there, but if your uniform is navy or black like most they'll be nearly invisible.
I wish I had known about these years ago. Maybe they would have saved me from injury rather than easing the pain of the injury.
