Easy as Pie

My mother bought two different size sets for me years ago at a kitchen store in her little town. I finally ruined my larger bag and was so grateful to find them online because I could not find them in local stores. I used to not make pies often because of the work involved, but these make pie crust rolling so easy. Put a little flour in the bag then zip it up and shake. Next, put the pie dough in the opened bag, zip it up, and roll the dough to the edges. Open the bag flip over a pie pan and voila! No more messing with wax paper and trying to judge sizes.
Great for rolling dough

These are replacements for our previous ones. We had those for over 10 years. This is so much easier than flouring the counter, rolling the dough, hoping it big enough and then having to clean up the mess. Now you know the dough is big enough and there is no mess. These clean easily, I squirt a little dish detergent on the inside and add a wet dishcloth, then zip it closed, rub it around, open and then rinse. Wipe the outside and your done. No flour on the floor and no mess. I would recommend.
Very Good Product

I've always used either cut parchment to rolled my pie crusts to help in the lifting process. Mrs Anderson's Pie Crust Bag is the same idea but easier to handle. Admittedly, the rolling area plastic is very thin and crinkly and does not feel substantive but it does the job well. I make chicken pot pies mostly during the year and desert pies for the holiday and use these bags every time. It's been over a year and they have held up just fine.
First you have to wet your counter top or rolling area with a bit of water to create a bit of suction for the plastic so it stays put when you start rolling. Next you open and flour both inside halves and put your dough in the center. Finally, you zip, roll, and then flip the opened bag on to your pie plate. It's perfect for more delicate doughs as the handling is always what ruins mine.
You can also use to roll out smaller items like tortillas or pita, easy and clean up is a breeze. I just soak in a sink with a little soap and water and rinse. You don't want to scrub this, I think the plastic is too delicate. The Pie Crust Bag is a very nice product and very useful, I recommend.

I love to make pies but it is so messy

Why didn't I know about this product sooner. I love to make pies but it is so messy. Now I can just roll out the crust inside the bag with very little mess. I sprinkle a little flour inside the bag and shake it around. Lay in the crust and roll it out. I unzip the bag completely and slide my hand under the bottom allowing the top to fold back over my hand. I place the pie plate lightly against the crust and invert. The crust is centered in the plate. I gently remove the bag from the crust and finish the fitting the crust to the plate. To clean up I rub any excess flour off the inside of the bag with a paper towel and wash the whole thing in hot sudsy water. A great product.
Love it!

It's time consuming for me probably because of how tough my crust is once I take it out of the fridge but the outcome is great. I make 9 in pies and only bought this because I needed it to come in before thanksgiving and the 9 inch one wasn't available so I got this and have no complaints. I keep the second bag in storage in case something happens to the first one (nothing yet except when I scratched it because I thought there was dough stuck when it was just on the other side). It comes of nice and easy when you think about it and doesn't create too much of a mess as I have read. Here's what I do, I put a decent about of flour 1 tablespoon or more, zip up the bag, shake it until it's not clear inside and both surfaces are nice and covered. I unzip it and put the dough in and roll it out. It comes off easy for me. Only problem I came up with is when I rolled it out all the way to edges but it came out fatter on one side, to avoid this spend as much time perfecting before unzipping and making sure everything is good and even (especially when the dough is straight from the fridge)
