And it actually works. The model is AP-12 I'm glad I didn't get the AP-15. Keep reading why.
I had to try this thing just for the price. I read some other reviews and took the chance. I don't know what people are doing wrong in the bad reviews other than not knowing how to set it up.
First read the manual. It actually does have a pretty good manual. I'll give you a hint though. Set your sweep to the middle. Wide will be how far you want it to work out from the frequency set on sweep you'll probably want your sweep all the way right, just use your ears. Think of picking up a string from the middle. More wide the further out it picks up the signal left to right. Lower to higher if that makes sense.
This is not a bass booster. It recovers signals lost in some audio recording. It works just like an epicenter but it gives options to fix ground issues, it has a subsonic filter, a line driver etc. Read the manual first!
This is the one you want though. It has a built in line driver and you can adjust the voltage. First find out what the max input voltage is for your amp. Cheap headunits have low voltage outputs but this will bring that signal up, therefore you don't need to turn the gain up on your amp. If you have a cheap amp and you have the voltage set to 10 volts and your still cranking your gain up your amp is just underpowered for your subs and your feeding your subs a lot of distortion. That will kill your voice coils.
After I hooked this thing up my gain stays all the way down, I don't need to touch it. I had to set the voltage to 5 volts so not to bottom out my voice coils. It's brings back that bass that was in the studio recording but didn't make it to the production or copy you are listening to.
Your country, rock to old rock to classical to flamingo will come back to life. And no I'm not getting paid. I have to be impressed to write this book.
