I bought it a month ago specifically for the DC amp measurement ability. I have not had the chance to use it for the intended purpose until today June 25th. I did test the voltage and resistance measurement functions and they worked. However, when I attempted to measure amps, it simply DOES NOT WORK! Neither AC nor DC amp measurement works. Stupid me, it is now too late to return it for a replacement. June 17th was the last day. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM unless you check it upon arrival to be sure it works. Mines headed for the garbage.

Received promptly. Items works very well as advertised. It is a little larger than I imagined and will not fit into a shirt pocket due to the added length of the clamp as opposed to a non clamping multimeter. Hand grip feel is very good. Probe wire is larger diameter than most low cost multimeters and very supple & soft, probably a silicone compound insulation. Item appears solidly constructed. I like it so far. Only downside (4 stars vs 5) is the display contrast needs to be greater for my tiring eyes...would appreciate a back light option. Based on what I see at this time, I would buy it again, but I cannot yet comment on long term durability.

Works exactly as described, great product. I work on semi-trucks and does great job for checking amp loads on electrical systems.A+
Made in China meter measures DC amps for a reasonable price.

It's the only meter that I've found, for a reasonable price, in a long time that measures DC current. I used it to measure the current going through the breaker in the SG Tool aid Short tester that I had in place of my 15A ignition fuse. Every time I put a fuse in it would blow. I even tried putting in a 30A fuse. For some reason the breaker ceased breaking like it's supposed to do, and instead kept the car running. I believe it burned the short out, which was in the headlight switch, of my 1996 Geo Metro. The headlight switch no longer works in the headlight position, and the only way to get high beam is the flash position. Fortunately the headlights still work in the running position with the emergency brake completely off. I had replaced the switch previously, as the first switch had this same problem. I found it interesting that the meter didn't want to give me a reading when I put the clamp around the wire attached to the breaker, but did give me a reading of about 4 amps when I put the clamp around the breaker itself.
Anyone who deals with inverters and electrical troubleshooting needs a meter like this. Surprisingly

I bought this for a friend who was sailing on a long ocean passage and I decided he needed this in his tool kit for when he called me on his Sat phone trying to diagnose an electrical problem. At least I could walk him through the procedure. I paid 2x as much for a similar meter 15 years ago and it was twice as big. Anyone who deals with inverters and electrical troubleshooting needs a meter like this. Surprisingly, this one had the best specs. of all the ones I looked at. Some of the other ones had +- 20% accuracy on the functions that needed +- 1-2% in order to be of any value...
