The band is rather cheap, but replaceable at any good hat store. Otherwise it is a great straw, nice inner band, grommets, and the surprise for me was that even though I wear a 3 3/8 or 59 long oval, this had fit perfectly out of the box--no adjustments needed. If you are a round head, therefore, you might have some trouble with the shape of the had out of the box, but I did not. Great hat for the price.

Great hat. It is made of plastic. Light weight and a perfect fit. I guess this item is getting popular since the price has doubled since I got mine about 4 weeks ago. Paid $18 for mine. If it gets dirty just put the water hose to it and the dirt just falls off. Will be buying a black one when they get their price back down.

I ordered this hat expecting it to be made of "straw" as described in the title. Was very surprised when it arrived to see it was made of PLASTIC instead. The die cast plastic gave it a surface texture to resemble a straw hat. Under the band, which was slightly lifted in one spot, you could see that the top of the hat and the brim were cast in 2 different pieces and "glued" together.

If I wanted a plastic hat, I would have ordered a plastic hat. The product title is wrong and should state a that it is plastic or a "straw look" at the least. The product description needs to say that it is made of plastic.

This hat fit my daughter exceptionally well. I bought it for her 10th Birthday. She has an average sized noggin. Her head is just a little smaller than mine (her mother). It was tight on me, but for a 10 year old, I would say it's perfect!

A great hat at a great price. I'd highly recommend the elastic band one. I originally purchased the hat for me head's size and it was way to tight and rigid on my head. I couldn't wear it for more than a minute. Seller recommended the Elastic band type (in L/XL for my head) and this is so made to fit a range of several (4-5 different sizes.) So I returned the first (single size) one and got this one and I'm so glad I did! Fits me like a charm and it's even so comfy. I can wear it all day. Offers excellent protection from the hot southern sun as well as rain (water resistant) not to mention the looks and heads turning at its sight! :)
