the subwoofers really dont like 20hz and below
Dennis C✓ Verified PurchaseApril 5, 2018
I bought these speakers almost a year ago, putting 3,000 watts to a pair of them and they definitely are LOUD ... BUT theres a few drawbacks to them too. For one, the subwoofers really dont like 20hz and below, but not too many subs do.The biggest problem with these speakers is the speaker cabinet themselves, NOT the subs. Because the sub woofers were not sealed separately from the horns and tweeters, at higher volumes the horns and tweeters vibrate causing a distortion sound, as well as the handles on the box vibrate at higher volumes. Dont get me wrong, I do love these speakers but if you plan on pushing these speakers, just be aware of the above mentioned issues is all. I've thrown block parties with these speakers, and you could clearly hear the words mids and highs 3 blocks away, but tune down the bass so you dont get the distortion

I still can't believe I spent only $80 for these speakers. They sound really good. I know equipment so listen to what I'm about to tell you. These speakers will never compete with a $400 speaker. So get at least enuff amp power at least 300watts going to them. Don't run any lower than 50Hz to them. If you want boom add a crossover and a sub. I'm a member of an r&b band and we have peavey behringer jbl and Yorkville speakers. Loaded in our trailer so know what quality sounds like. These are for a smaller system I'm putting together. I'm also using rockville 1000watt 18 inch subwoofer. An rockville crossover and eq. With a behringer epx2800 amp.I set my crossover at 100Hz. And man the sound is awesome. I've only used the with my iPad and not with a band. I will be doing that pretty soon. I'm smart enuff to know I will only be able to use this setup at small events. Mine came in undamaged. Buy these speakers. They should work fine for any size dj event. If they don't work for mains in a band environment you can always use them for stage monitors. At $80 each that would still be a bargain.

My second set of these speakers..I like the quality, the sound, and priced very reasonable. I use them for out-door events. Which seem to work out well..another good speaker to consider is the 12" 3way model, I have a set of these as well for the events not needing such a large sound, but still deliver. My last DJ event, I paired a 15 and 12 together each side, 4 speaker system, balanced a 4 ohm load to my Amp mixer..was able to control close and not that close speaker output, so the guest sitting close won't get blasted out...anyway..everything seems to work great..
Hope to have these for a while..

Pretty good for the price

I bought these for a friend who was putting together a basic sound system for a quartet he is forming. Let's be realistic; these are cheap speakers. They appear to be just 1/2 particle board with felt over it, and the drivers are lower end, with the tweeters being piezo type.

But, they sound surprisingly good. Bass response for single 12's is very decent. The sound is clear, and the highs reach up enough to produce a fairly satisfying amount of treble.

In short, they sound OK, and I am pretty critical because my own system is made up of high-end stuff. So if you need some decent sounding speakers and $79 each is your budget, these are a good choice. Just for grins and giggles, I hooked my 18" powered sub in to fill out the bottom end, and these cheap speakers sounded pretty big with the sub accompanying them.
Good price good sound no problems. Uses Speakon connectors.

Solid no nonsense good sound, be aware these speakers only have Speakon connectors. In Europe they are mandatory for loud systems obviously they are coming to the US-like it or not. Bought pair of speakon cables on Amazon for $25.00, they twist & lock into place. Work fine connect into my Yamaha small Mixer although anyone with older mixers may have to buy speakon plug one end, 1/4" plug other. Usual feel & build for these cheap high wattage 8 ohm units. Very happy.
