Did not fit camera FZ200

The lens hood works as it should. I was disappointed that the hood did not store on the camera as the original lens hood would.

This hood was too large to fit my lens. I was going to return it, but the cost of returning was equal to the charge for shipping so I will keep it. Cancel the return shipping for which I had originally applied. Thank you.

This is my review for the "PLR Optics 52MM Lens Hood". First off something I want to point out not mentioned in the product info for this item is it's "Polaroid" branded. I'm not sure what that will mean to you but I felt a bit better about the quality of the product knowing it's backed by a large manufacturer as opposed to a generic company/branding.

The product arrived in its clamshell packaging in a box with bubble wrap and opening the package was easy enough as it was only taped shut. The Lens hood came in two pieces the rear locking plate and the hood itself. Construction material is a hard plastic with a matte black finish. There are only threads for orienting the hood in the forward position (some hoods can be reverse mounted). There's no interior lip for a lens cover to be attached when not in use either but neither of these features were listed in the product description so it's not a "negative"

Installation was straightforward on a 14-42 52mm lens on my panasonic GF2. I noted that the hood obstructs view when "zoomed out" from 14-18 at which point it's no longer in the viewfinder/images. While this product isn't listed as compatible with my GF2 I would think it's scalloping would be such that it wouldn't obstruct view.

All in all this is a great little hood for the price I paid I have no qualms recommending this to anyone who needs a 52mm hood, just be forewarend it may end up in your FOV when shooting wide open.

It is a good hood for the Panasonic FZ200, but one comes with the camera. i did not read all the fine print - usually you have to buy the hood separately.
