I'm a pet sitter & wanted a pet carrier to keep in my trunk for emergencies. Sometimes clients don't have a carrier or I find an injured pet/wild animal in need. There are a couple concerns listed below in the cons section & I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, but I'm going to keep it & pleased with my purchase. From reading the reviews, cats seem to like it. It seems like it would be easier to get a cat in & out of it than the regular rectangular carriers, even with a top load door.

Pros: It folds flat (about the size of a briefcase), is easy & quick to set up, seems sturdy, comes with a thick fleece mat. It will be easy to get a pet in & out due to the large door in the A-frame design. design. I also like the fact that it's one piece. No small screws to lose.

Cons: There are a few small spaces along the bottom edges that a pet could possibly get a nail or small paw stuck. See in pictures. The mat that came with it would cover the spaces, but it is slightly smaller than the bottom of the carrier. I will add a towel in the bottom when using to safeguard against this problem. Chances are slim it could happen, but better to prevent an injury. The mat also has a tag that says it is not machine washable. This is not good for pet use.

This carrier was a big hit at the vet. My cat is very skittish and hates the vet. I have used a soft sided carrier for years and thought it was best because it zipped open on top and both ends, however the last year or so it's been harder and harder to get my 9.5 lb kitty in and out of the soft carrier. This carrier solves that problem and makes it less stressful for all. I put a fleece bed and catnip toy inside and leave it out for my cat to explore or sleep in (but she never does lol). Very happy with this purchase. Update: my cat decided to take a nap in her carrier this evening >^.^<

We've been using this cat carrier for a few months now. We love it. Here's why:
- It's light. The build materials are lightweight, so carrying it is easy.
- It's compact. It can fold away to fit into small spaces (e.g., under a couch, bed, etc.).
- It's stable. The triangular shape of the carrier encourages the cat to remain in the middle of the carrier, which means that the cat's weight is balanced in the middle. This makes the carrier very easy to carry when the cat is inside. It also means that it's virtually impossible for the cat to flip the carrier while it is inside.
- It's affordable. The price is very competitive with other carriers.
- It's easy to clean. Cleaning the case is as easy as wiping it down with a cloth and some cleaning agent.
- It can be sanitized. Like other hard cases, this is easy to sanitize for two reasons. First, liquids like urine cannot penetrate the hard material of the case. Second, sanitizers only work on hard surfaces (read the fine print), so only hard cases like this can be truly sanitized.

Most importantly:
- The cat loves it. As soon as we got it, we put it in our living room and put our cat's bed in it. The cat immediately laid down in it and now regularly uses the carrier for naps. It was important that our cat actually like their carrier, so this is a huge bonus for us.

People with very small kittens:
- Small openings in corners. There are a few small openings that a small kitten (very small, like less than 8 weeks) might try to get through. I'm not sure such a small kitten could get through successfully. But that is part of my worry: that the kitten would get stuck. (In our experience, this is not a concern with an adult cat.)

This carrier goes together very easily & looks great. Within minutes, Stella (13 lbs.) decided to give it her stamp of approval! Her brother, Sparky even fits comfortably & he weighs 17lbs.

update: still give it 4 stars, but having used it a few more times, it's very awkward to carry around. and the carrier itself is just over 4lbs which is a lot of weight to add to a fussy animal!

fits my 12lb maine coon mix just fine. it seems a little flimsy, and if we used it more than 3-4 times a year i might have returned it. i got him a little mat for the bottom of the carrier as well.
