They say Hyaluronic Acid can help with moisturizing skin and joints when taken internally. Just be sure to take it the right way so you don't choke yourself out. If you just take it dry, it will stick like crazy to the inside of your mouth and throat, and it takes forever to finally wash away.
Instead of taking it dry, get a small sauce dish or something similar and put an ounce or two of clean water in it. Then add the dose of powder you're using (something like 1/12 of a tsp). Then use a spoon or something to mix it around a bit to get the powder all wet. It will turn into a gel-like substance, which can be easily swallowed.
You can also add it to yogurt or cottage cheese. It doesn't have a flavor so that's no problem. Enjoy!

LIKE GETTING A FACE LIFT
MEG✓ Verified Purchase•September 6, 2023
I have been using 'face creams' with Hyaluronic Acid and Vit C for years. I began using more and more as I aged. I always kept my eye out for more effective and stronger products. The stronger the Cream the more expensive it got until I could not afford it any more.
I decided to look into Hyaluronic Acid and try to make my own face cream. When I researched it I realized that I should be eating it as well, that this Acid is in every cell of the body and vital for proper cell function to retain fluids. Hey the stuff worked so well on my wrinkles in the creams for years, why shouldn't I use it for the organs of my body as well? And when my husband required eye surgery my research turned up that his detached retina was due to not having enough Hyaluronic Acid. Because although the body produces it, as we age the body produces less.
I found out how to make a juice from the powder in my kitchen on youtube. I made it in a sterile jar with ice cold water and it keeps it in my refrigerator for a week or so. Buying in `bulk powder' is the most cost effective way to do that. I bought only 10 grams the first time to try it. Gees it lasted a long time, you only need a little bit to make the juice.
I used a small glass 10oz Jelly Jar run thru the dishwasher and then ran it under real hot water. That was sterile enough for me. Then I put ice cubes and real cold water in the Jelly jar to chill it ice cold. In a separate drinking glass I placed Ice Cubes and more cold water to also chill. It takes a few min to get icy cold. I dumped the ice and water out of the Jelly Jar. I poured the icy water not the ice from the glass into the Jelly Jar holding the ice back with clean fingers and put in about 1/8 a tsp or less of the powder. Make sure the powder is under water or wet. Placed plastic wrap over the Jars opening, put the lid on and shake. It will be lumpy. Put it in the refrigerator, go back and shake it every 3 or 4 hours. Eventually all the lumps will be gone and it's done! The texture is a little thicker than water, smooth and silky.
Within days of taking a tablespoon full twice a day I found my body was tightening and it seemed as though my waist was getting smaller too. I take it on and empty stomach and drink some cold water after it. Really in just 3 or 4 days the wrinkles on my face were tightening and the skin seemed to have a more youthful appearance. My upper arms also seemed tighter and that was without exercising!
I know now how much my body needed this stuff. Actually it seems to me that because of my age (60) the lack of Hyaluronic Acid was actually `causing the aging'. As the body ages the amount of hyaluronic Acid found naturally in the cells reduces ebbing down to virtually nothing at the end. This is the reason the use of Hyaluonic Acid is like getting a face lift.

Brighter and More Vibrant Skin

I purchased DMAE from this company for a DIY skin care project and was able to choose another product of my choice from their line for review purposes. I had no idea that I would receive this perk when I made my purchase, but was quite pleased, as you can imagine. HA was on Want List, so I chose it. In all honesty, I was so pleased with the quality of the DMAE that I would gladly have paid for this purchase.
I wanted to make a serum to use use both night and day. I did my due diligence and researched Google, YouTube and Pinterest before choosing a recipe. My first sample batch was a fail, because I either did not add enough water (I chose Orange Blossom to tszuj it up a bit) or added too much product. The batch turned out to be more of a thick gel, rather than a serum. I tried applying it in that form and it was not bad at first. However, it started to sort of 'roll up' in some areas. It was evident that the product was too thick. No problem. I kept adding one tablespoon of the Orange Blossom water and placing it in the fridge for 20 minutes or so and stirring. The final perfect recipe for me is 4 tablespoons of COLD water and 1/4 teaspoon of HA powder. Since I planned to keep it in the fridge to extend the life of the product anyway, I did so. In the morning I had an absolute perfect serum. On the upside, my original failed batch proved to me that this truly was a miracle hydration product that would attract moisture to my skin.
Application - I purchased a very inexpensive pump container (photo below). One pump dispenses the exact amount of product that I need. After washing my face and using toner, I apply one pump to my face. It is immediately absorbed and leaves zero residue of any sort. You would be fine to wear this alone on a no makeup day and it would not be detected. There is no smell and the product itself is totally clear.
Shelf Life - I do not add preservatives to my DIY products, as that would defeat part of the purpose of making my own. I will use vitamin E as a natural preservative to many products, but did not want to add it it to this one. I already use it in my primer and facial setting and refresher sprays. I don't want to look like an oil slick by day's end. This recipe made a small batch, but I still think this will be too much product for two week's use. I may cut the recipe in half next time.
Packaging - The packaging is well sealed and its quality assures me that the product itself is of high quality and has not been exposed in packing or shipping. It is clearly labels with supplement facts, warnings, measurements, ingredients, expiration and manufactured dates, storage suggestion and lot number in case of a recall.
I really can't think of anything more that I could require or want from a product. This 10 gram (0.35 ounce) packet will last me a very long time. The expiration date is a year away. I may have to incorporate it into my eye creams in order to not waste any due to the expiration date. That is a good problem to have. Who does not want more moisture in their eye area. This is a definite annual repeat purchase.
The photo below is untouched and makeup free after a week of twice daily use. As a caveat, I am 57. This should be considered before making any snap judgements about whether my skin looks radiant or healthy in general.
UPDATE - I was so pleased with the results of my skin that I started using this in conjunction with DMAE in my under eye and on the outer corners, with the intent of bringing additional moisture to this area. The third photo below is after three weeks of using this product twice a day.

I am down to my last small batch and am online to purchase my first refill, as I tried going three days without it and was displeased. My 5 star rating remains true.
Recipe and Tip: Always use very cold water to make (I use refrigerated distilled water that I have previously added a couple of drops of Esential Orange Oil to). A wide mouth flatter container is preferred, ergo an empty eye cream jar. I say this because I find the product mixes much easier if you evenly sprinkle the powder over the entire surface of the cold water. Also, do NOT stir until the product has had a chance to mix on its own in the fridge. I leave mine in the fridge over night and continue to store it in this way. I found stirring when initially mixed the two ingredients together caused the product to get lumpy on some areas. I used a chop stick to stir/beat the lumps out. It is a royal pain, but a great arm work out. **Add water to container first.
2 tablespoons of COLD water + 1/4 teaspoon of H/A powder. You can double for more product, but I prefer smaller batches to maintain freshness and efficacy. Note, I also add my Vitamin C serum and a couple drops of Rosehip oil to a small amount of this mixture into the palm of my hand, mix with my finger and then apply. If you are using alone, you may prefer more or less water. This works perfect for me and does not affect my makeup application, including foundation. If it sort of rolls up on your skin, you need to add more water and place in the fridge for a bit before re-stirring. **Photo #4 was taken May 21, 2017, after 13 months of daily night time use.

A true *MUST HAVE* for skin and joint health!
Sj773✓ Verified Purchase•August 8, 2023
I use this product both orally and topically. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is glycosaminoglycan, and is already present in our connective tissues with it's primary function being the retaining of moisture. Understanding this, you can easily see how it both plumps the surface of the skin by absorbing moisture from the air and literally pushing wrinkles out or plumping them from underneath. Hyaluronic acid also plays a major roll in the health of our joints as it keeps them lubricated and moving smoothly.
* Skin Benefits: Having previously sold physician-grade skincare and anti-wrinkle treatments, I learned a great deal about which active ingredients do what and how. Using a simple HA serum daily will let you see visible, sometimes instant results, depending on how dehydrated your skin may be already. Another key advantage to a pure HA serum is that since our eyeballs are primarily made of Hyaluronic acid, even those with sensitivities to skincare products being too near to the delicate eye area, are not likely to have negative reactions!
* Joint Benefits: One of the most well-known benefits of Hyaluronic acid is for its joint pain relief. The aging process depletes our bodies of hyaluronic acid by as much as 50% so replacement is key in both skin and joint wellness. Smoking, as well as numerous other factors, put you at extra high risk for accelerated loss of HA. Boosting our intake and absorption of this vital ingredient is not just important, it's critical! When we think of joint health, most of us think knees and hips. While these are certainly helped with the lubricating benefits of HA, remember too that joints encompasses everything from your back to your shoulders, wrists, fingers and toes - All of your moving joints!
The good news is that topical and oral supplementation can prevent or even reverse so much of this depletion process.
* How it works: Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that absorbs and holds water to an incredible degree. In fact, the hyaluronic acid molecule can actually attract and retain more than 1,000 times their weight in water!!! This is crucial in maintaining the fluids that surround each of our joints, as it binds to water to create a thick, gelatinous fluid that lubricates and protects cartilage. These protective, moisture-rich fluids, along with cartilage, act as our natural shock absorbers to help joints endure the wear and tear of strenuous activity when we are young and even the most basic movement as we age. When we are dealing with issues such as arthritis, HA levels become extremely low, these lubricating fluids become low enough to actually takes away the spongy characteristic of cartilage, causing pain with movement.
DIY Hyaluronic Acid Serum for topical application:
1/4 cup Distilled water
1/8 tsp. Hyaluronic Acid
1/8 tsp. Leucidal Liquid SF, Natural Preservative Ingredient for Homemade Hyaluronic Acid Serums and Other Cosmetics, 1 oz.
Spray or Dropper Bottle (I use 6 Pack- 2 Oz - Cobalt Blue Boston Round Glass Bottle With Fine Mist Spray Nozzle 60 ML - For Hydrosol, Cosmetics, Medicine, Kitchen, Bathroom, Oils, Perfume, Lab, Travel. - Re-Usable -By Katzco )
~ (For oral consumption, leave out the preservative but keep refrigerated. Add by the dropper full to your favorite smoothie)
* Bottom Line: We all NEED and OWE it to our connective tissues to replenish our bodies and our largest organ (our skin) with this vital nutrient. I personally recommend and trust the high quality of the Bulk Supplements brand for this and several other supplements I purchase from them regularly such as BulkSupplements Pure Potassium Citrate Powder (1 Kilogram) and BulkSupplements CLEAN Whey Protein Powder (1 Kilogram) .
