Perfect to use

I really didn't want to have to buy this for my boston terrier puppy. I've had dogs all my life, and have never needed a shock collar. There were a few times I wish I had one though. My pup had a bad habit of not coming when called. The birds and stinky stuff was worth ignoring me. I kept him on a training rope outside for 2 months and rewarded with treats everytime he came when I called. But as soon as he got some freedom, he would not listen.

Remote and collar are both recharged via a wall charger that charges both at the same time. Lower settings on the collar below 20 I can't even feel. Around 20 I can feel a small charge on my wrist. My puppy seems to respond around 25 so I haven't had to go above this. It gives him a bewildered look the first few times he felt it. I tell him to come, if he doesn't respond I hit the vibrate feature, this is usually all I have to do now. If for some reason he doesn't respond after a few calls and vibrate after I call, he gets a very mild static shock that gets his attention and he comes. I haven't had to shock him in a week, just a few vibrates here and there. Just nice to have when I have him out without a leash. A few more months with this and I think I will sell it because I won't need it anymore. It has made my time outdoors training and playing with him so much better without any frustration.

Update 4/42017: Still working well. Without this collar my dog will sometimes not listen to me. I rarely have to ever hit the vibrate button with this collar on as my dog knows he has to mind. Most the time I put it on him and don't even turn it on because he minds nearly perfect with it on when I call him. I think I have only used the the shock feature twice last year when he took off chasing a cat and was heading toward a road and wouldn't listen, and another when he darted off to play with a skunk, pew.

Excellent training aid for stubborn headstrong breeds. Have used these collars for over ten years, newer version is much smaller and compact than the ones I currently use but works just as well.

Works well for puppy training. Safe. Durable. It does the trick!

Rocky went away to train for a month and the trainers recommended this item while he trained with them. We continue to use it to ensure he is up to date on his manners (lol). Easy to charge and has different settings ðŸ¾ðŸ¾ðŸ¾ðŸ¾
