I had purchased something like this that was only $3.00 and shipped from China. I worked well but the clamp was either to tight or to loose on the flashlight. I ended up putting electrical tape around the flashlight to get it to hold. And after about 6 months, the clamp holding it to my handlebars broke. I ordered this and it seems to be made of better materials. What I really like is that it came with a rubber strip that grips the flashlight, so the flashlight is easier to mount and I have more confidence in it holding. I haven't had it long, but so far I am happy with my purchase.

This item was delivered to me looking like it had been drop-kicked from a moving train and then smash by a rock. Worn, creased and crushed cardboard packaging all taped together to form a ball. Needless to say, my first impression was none too good. But, I went ahead and attached the holder to a knee-walker handle bar and added my flashlight. It works. So presentation and first impressions aside, the product does what it's suppose to do. It's made from a hard plastic with a matte black finish. Appears strong and durable.

I wish there was a way to not have it flap around when the holder doesnt have a light in it (i take the light when putting the bike on the bike carrier). Also my handlebar isnt perfectly straight - it angles back just a bit meaning the light is either angled a little left if left of center or a little right if right of center. given that I rider on the right I just put it on the left side to compensate, but something to think about in regards to your handlebard and how this could work. the mechanism allows for 90 degree rotation but nothing fine grained. other than that it is really good and works well. great price.

One useful alternative to a conventional bike headlight is this product, with your favorite flashlight attached to your bike. I have a high-quality small tactical flashlight with multiple brightness settings, which I use for walking, running, camping, and more - and I use this bike flashlight mount to quickly attach it to my handlebars and use it while riding. I like the versatility of using the flashlight for many purposes, rather than a dedicated bike headlight (especially with an expensive light.)
The mount is simple and secure, and it's easy to attach and detach your light. Fits a range of sizes with a simple screw mechanism on the latch. If the mount wants to slip on your handlebars, add a little piece of bar tape or electrical tape under it to help it stay more firmly in place. It has held up well through all the seasons. Simple device, great value.

I had to buy another one of these after some low-life junky stole mine over winter break. I would not recommend constantly removing the clamp, because it's made out of this chintzy ABS plastic WITHOUT fiberglass reinforcement. Additionally, the clamp has this shrimp ramen and burnt rubber smell that only goes away through constant air exposure. I would highly recommend getting either a "Spanner Machine Screw" or a "TORX Security Bolt" for mounting this clamp, as individuals who are inclined to steal a $9.00 light clamp are probably not bright enough to carry security drivers. If you're living in the US-of-A or the People's Republic of Canada, go to your local hardware store and get a #6-32 Spanner Screw preferably made of stainless steel that is 1 inch in length. Then get a corresponding nylon lock bolt (nylock) and the special driver needed to tighten the bolt. The hole is rather large and easy to chew through so an #8-32 will also work. If you live anywhere else on Planet Earth then you're gonna need to find a security bolt that is 4M in diameter and around 26mm in length (can be a little more or less depending on what's available).

This solution is great for your bike seat and grips as well, or anything else you bolt to your bike. Hope this was somewhat helpful!
