I did my research on these....

I have just spent the last 30 days testing 4 boots of 3 different brands of winter snow/ice boots through conditions of -26 degrees F to 40 degrees in the Adirondack Mountains, NY. I am not receiving anything, nor am I working on behalf of any brand. I am just a consumer that is tired of buying boots that are substandard quality and I needed to find a boot that will last more than 30 times of wearing( it's a sad consumer state of crap products).
I tested the Sorrel Conquest, Baffin Monster and Thorogood Endeavor Extreme
First, I purchased a pair of Sorrel Conquests. After 20 times of wearing, the lace eyelet ripped out( left another 31 eyelets to break over time), my first pair of these split in the first month of wearing. What I went through to find answers as to why this continues to happen to a boot that has ONLY 47% of the people would recommend over 3 years can be summed up in STAY AWAY FROM SORREL's CONQUEST till it's redesigned. Sad that they sold to Columbia and moved manufacturing to Asia.
Thorogood makes a quality product, but these boots weren't as warm as the Baffins. I stood in the cold for 30 min at -10F and I could feel the temps in my toes after 20 min. They are also not as snug as the Sorrel or Baffin, still really well made, just came in 2nd and much better for snow conditions and snowmobile riding, snowshoeing than 85% of the boots out there.
Baffin Monster.....My wife thinks they are not the most stylish of the 3( I think the Sorrel wins there, though it's a crap boot). Seeing I need to snow shoe, hunt, work, and just live in these for 6 months, I choose the Baffin Monster. I went out for 6 hours in temps from -10 F in the AM to 15 F in the day. Everything on my body was cold and frozen other than my feet. They are that warm... The grip of the bottom of the boot over ice is unparalleled in anything I have used in the last 10 years.
I have owned the Baffin's for over 30 days and It's a work in progress, but as it stands, this is a heck of boot. Thank you Baffin for continuing to make a quality product, making that product in Canada( not Vietnam like Sorrel, which use to be made in Canada). I will report back if anything goes wrong with my boots, but right now typed words can't express how pleased/impressed I happen to be with them.

Warm boots for cold weather

My feet get cold, really cold. After the last round of bitter cold, I decided to get the best pac boots that I could afford. After some research, I found that Baffin seems to be among the best. I prefer to buy shoes locally but could not find these at any of the local outdoors stores. Amazon came to the rescue!
I normally wear a size 11 shoe but wanted to make sure that I could wear these with thick socks and not have them too tight, so I purchased these in a size 12. I was a little concerned that they could be a little too big. When they arrived, I took them out of the box and examined them carefully. The insulation is thick - very thick - and if anything, I thought they would be difficult to get on. However, the inner lining is really smooth, and my foot slid right in without any difficulty. I tried them again, but with a thicker sock and I had the same easy entry. The size 12 was perfect with thicker socks as expected, but they are even snug enough to wear with normal thickness socks as the soft foam layer cuddles your foot.
Let's try them out... I hopped on to my open-cab compact utility tractor to clear a little snow (actually a lot). I only spent an hour in this session, but normally my feet would start to feel a little chilly in this time. With these on, my feet actually felt comfortably warm after a short time. I have no doubt that these would keep my feet comfortable in extreme cold as well.
These are really comfortable, well-insulated, well-made boots designed for cold weather.

Best Feet and Toe Savers

I work construction and the ski industry in bitter cold, snowy and icy conditions. Sorel makes a good boot, but Baffin makes a better boot for vapor release and heat retention. Lot more durable. Baffin stands behind their boots but I've never had a problem. This is my second pair. Boots fit to size. So size up if you're between sizes. I'm a 10 1/2. The 11 is a good fit that allows for extra socks if needed. The removable linings help adjust for warmer temps. I find it best to start with thin socks and then layer as needed rather than taking off socks. If your feet have gotten sweaty, dry em off and put another pair of socks on so the others can dry. Definitely wear clean socks and keep a dry pair handy. Don't put the boots on until you're ready to go outside. You'll sweat if you don't, then you got wet feet that'll freeze. If you go back inside for a while, take the boots off for same reason. In the old days when we didn't know better, we put a plastic bag over thick wool socks and then wondered why our feet were wet. Not much different with homes that are so air tight with no ventilation/vapor release you get moisture. If you have a high arch, you'll need insoles. I pasted heavy duty aluminum foil on the bottom of the insoles for extra heat retention. The sole is very rigid, grips very well. But if you're on ice for extended periods, put the chains or crampons on to save your glutes, back, head and elbows. The Snow Monsters are rated at -94 F. But if you have low circulation, metabolism or alcohol or any sensory suppressent in your system, you might feel cold, but you won't freeze. Use the toe warmers if needed. But eat a good meal of carbs, protein and good fat to help get the burn going and you'll be fine. But technically, you don't want warm feet. Your feet'll sweat. Cool, even slightly cold feet is really best where you can still feel your toes and move em around to keep circulation going.

These boots are very comfortable. I have not had a chance to try them in very cold weather bet I did wear them when the temp was 15 degrees with snow on the ground. Stood in the snow for 45 minutes, with minimal movement, and my feet stayed very warm. No cold came through the bottom of these boots. I'm impressed!!
month update: broke in nice...

Brown be alot darker than photo.
Rest will take more time to feel out on them 8P
two months now with em nice an broke in.
not as warm as imagined.
now to see if they last more than one season, like others were complaining about on the durability.
