So I got this for when I travel on business to avoid having to buy cheap cork screws on the road, only to throw them away. Overall, a nice device that does what it is supposed to do.

I only have two issues.

First, the TSA always wants to look at this thing, so just be aware you should put it in your bag in a place that is easy to take out and drop in one of those little plastic bins before the bag goes into the x-ray.

The second issue is that the design has a slight flaw in that the axle that the corkscrew swings on only had a rivet on one side, so over time the pressure placed on the axle when twisting the corkscrew into the cork will cause the sides of the device to spread out a bit and eventually the axle will slip. I fixed it pretty quickly by realigning the axle and squeezing the outside edges of the device (black metal) with a pair of pliers to tighten it back down and force the end of the axle through the hole in the side. I will likely need to continue doing this periodically to avoid having the thing fall apart. Putting a rivet on both sides would probably have avoided the issue.

Overall, recommended though. It is handy to have in your bag if you don't mind the two issues I mentioned.

I used these for gifts for events that featured winemakers and auctions to benefit non-profits. Perfect for getting through TSA, but when you're opening 100+ bottles of wine in a short period of time, these are not super practical because there is no knife and removing foil is impossible. Probably a better corkscrew for personal travel when you're going to occasionally open a bottle on a trip or in a hotel room.

Not for Europe. It was taken away at Madrid Airport by security. I should get a replacement by the manufacter and it should state clearly that it does not comply with European rules

For domestic travel, this is great. In fact, the first time I used it, the TSA Agent said she had never seen something like this and thought it was really cool. For international travel, though, forget it. On three occasions, I have had corkscrews taken from me by airport security. I was hopeful that the TSA logo on this might be of some help, but it was not. So even though I purchased this one month ago after my previous corkscrew was confiscated in South Africa, this one has already been donated to the Panama airline security folks.

Yeah - these are great for a wine importer who gets on an airplane weekly. I bought extras for my co-workers. Must be pulled out of carry on bag during TSA screening or you'll definitely bum out your fellow passengers. TSA likes to look at them to be sure they are knife-less but in the 3 years carrying mine I've never had a problem. The foil cutter where the knife usually fits is great in a pinch but I carry a separate foil cutter for efficiency sake since the one on this key isn't that great. Regardless - this think has repeatedly saved my life!
