I bought my first Hohner harmonica when I was 15 years old. I am now 85 years old. I have an ear for music and can play without reading it..
When I went to Austria to serve in the Army I saw many music stores that sold an assortment of harmonicas and bought Marine Bands, Special 20ss, the 64 Chromatic and a bass all blow double harmonica that sells today for more than $1000.00. I bought the basss on a whim and kept it for 25 years and gave it away to Goodwill, not realizing its value.
I played the Marine Bands and Special 20s off an on for 50 years and read about the Rocket recently. As I have aged my wind diminishes and I thought that the Rocket's loudness would all ow me to be heard when I am playing in the band. I have also had Lee Oscars too but have always favored the Hohners because of the quality, selection, and availability. I am enjoying playing the little diatonic along with keyboards. WD Neil

A dear price to pay, but these harmonicas play amazingly well. Smooth, bold tone, air tight. Played Special 20 as well but the Rocket is a step up. I have key of G also and like it better than D. Still both good.

Comfortable to play, and easy to bend notes. Bought these after losing my Special 20 collection and the Rocket is an improvement on the 20.

The Special 20 is one of the most popular harmonicas, and this is an upgraded version of it. It uses the exact same reed plates as the Special 20, but it's louder, and it has a zipper padded case that's nice for carrying in your pocket.
