The video quality is mildly horrible. I am well aware of the need to manually focus, that isn't what I mean. I got this as a gift for a friend, and was embarrassed when setting it up for him at how bad it was. To make matters worse, the USB cable isn't terribly long, so I couldn't even put it on top of his monitor (he has a desktop computer; not a laptop).
Save yourself the headache, and go with a more expensive model. Something by Microsoft or Logitech, I would recommend.

This camera is exactly what you should expect from its price. It works fine, and the quality is moderate, at best. The biggest draw back I've noticed is its narrow angle of image capture. I literally have to place this far behind my monitors to capture my face and upper shoulders. In a normal placement next to the monitors, my face is in close-up mode.
The way I picture this product is that someone took apart larger consumer products and removed the cameras inside to sell online. Works for me. Overall, worth the cheaper cost but if you're looking for top-of-the line quality video, definitely look elsewhere.

The webcam came in a white package and the only thing protecting the webcam itself was a ziploc like baggy. It was easy to install, as it really is just plug and play, but when the picture came up that was when the disappointment came. The quality is SO BAD. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can barely see an outline of myself even when I'm about 2 feet from the webcam. There are no controls or focus on the webcam so I do not think that it is possible to adjust the setting of the camera. There is a microphone so if you want to use this solely as a microphone, then by all means go ahead. Even though it was only $5.50 total to buy, I was expecting a little more from this product, such as being able to actually see myself when I skype with people. Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying this. If anyone can help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

The maximum resolution is 640x480, thus it's a 0.3 MP camera. It even says 640x480 maximum resolution on the box. Also, it only supports video/x-raw-yuv, so it you wanted MJPEG this camera doesn't have it. It works with Cheese on Ubuntu, so it's not worth returning.

I got these to add to my current webcam collection. And, these work perfectly with Windows 7 64 bit. Self installs the drivers needed.
You can not rum more than one of these at a time. OH well.
Cute little base unfolds to make the stand and the camera pans and tilts very cool for such a low cost camera.
Good for project cams, and extra cams if needed.
