Seems to work okay, I'll give it 5 stars for now because it does what is is supposed to do. I still think there should be some kind of tech specs, warranty information etc. To be fair, it isn't difficult to figure out. This is the fourth transformer I have purchased for the same LED system of two 16 foot stick on LED strips. The other three were lemonbest and died in about a year with one component or another melting.

As another reviewer noted, this item does not match what is described in the title or shown in the picture. This unit arrived without a 3 prong plug, just bare wires, so some assembly is required. This device is made for the European market, so the wire colors used don't match the standard wiring colors used in the US. You will need to research the correct wiring youself since there is no useful documentation or diagrams on the the power supply or in the package. The input AC voltage range is listed as 170-250v, not your typical US voltage range. This unit does not display UL certification.
I contacted the seller and they offered a refund, but I thought I would test this out with an electrial engineer at work. We wired it up and tested it up to 5.0 amps and it worked very well. I've decided to keep the unit since it will handle the load nicely, but you should be aware that you might recieve something different than what the seller describes.

This transformer/power supply is much more substantial than the other plastic LED transformer I have (a 30 watt model that won't power the whole double density strip that I bought.) Have only tested it so far with my LED ribbon, (and it easily lit up the 600 led strip I used) but no idea yet of longer term capabilities or issues. But while the plastic one barely weighed half a pound, this one weighs at least 3 pounds and is easily 4 times the size. It has a very strong aluminum casing and holes for screwing it into place. The look and feel inspires confidence -- I'll see what my contractor thinks.
It died!! update: I was wrong. this product worked. It was the led strip!

This item shipped on March 18th 2013 and worked until Jan 2014. It looks great on the outside but this was only powering one 24 watt led strip and it sure didn't last long. Maybe they should have stuck some money for reliable components on the inside.
It could win a beauty contest looking at the outside but in this case beauty is only skin deep.
I bought this March 2013 and this is the reply I get after 9 months:

I love this dimmer. I wanted to install a curio shelf in a new wall, and needed good lighting under each shelf that gives off the proper "warm" 3000 Kelvin light, but not get too hot and not take up too much room under my 1-1/2" thick fir shelving. These lights met these needs. This transformer handles my 24' of lighting with no problem Very easy to install. Leads are a little short, but not too hard to use without extending leads. I built the unit into the wall behind the lower left panel in the inset.. Used a dimmer just in case the lights give off too much light (they are just right when at maximum brightness). Great product and makes my product look that much better
