My dad suffers from severe back and knee pain. Even cortisone shots don't help him but this did. He felt more relief from 15 minutes of this than any other treatment. I couldn't be happier or more grateful. He used it for the first time today :).

I have been using this to help with blood flow to my femoral head (hip area) and it has actually helped dimished my pain when I use it. It definitely gets hot, but as long as I am at least 12 inches away I simply just adjust my position to heat a different area and all is well.

Sturdy,compact and nice looking . it helped both easing paain in my hands,neck and losen up sinuscongestion. do not have it for long, will add more later. Relatives visiting ordered it also.

Beurer Infrared!
I have it for six month now! It is sturdy, it helped me a lot during the winter days, nice lamp overall but requires some improvements.
What I really like about is:
A) it heats pretty fast.
B) the heat is a nice intense heat but not overwhelming.
C) it is light weigh but not flimsy.
Some observations:
A) If you want to use it a second time on the same or other location, there isn't an option to have it back on, unless you turn it off and on again.
B) it isn't mad in Germany like some reviews mentioned, it is made in China.
C) Sometimes is hard to move the position of the light.
Other than that I'm happy with the product.

I loved this lamp for the week that it worked. It REALLY WORKS to relieve back pain - until it stops working. Just like any light bulb, the bulb will eventually fail, requiring replacement, some bulbs sooner, some bulbs later. I contacted Beurer about the "lifetime" warranty, and to see if a replacement bulb was available, as YOU WOULD THINK you could just replace the bulb yourself when it burns out. NOT SO! REPLACEMENT BULBS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM BEURER. If your bulb burns out after the 30 day return window, YOU MUST SHIP THE UNIT TO BEURER AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE AND ALSO PAY THE RETURN SHIPPING!! So for me to ship both ways from Arizona to Beurer in Florida and back is $44 via UPS Ground.

So, if you really want to use this for daily therapy you will NEED TO PURCHASE TWO UNITS, and be OK with paying Shipping to and from Beurer ($44 +-) when the bulb periodically needs replacement. So perhaps first year cost $65+$65+44=$174. STILL IS LESS THAN 50 CENTS A DAY - Likely cheaper and better than prescription drugs.

We will be happy to replace the bulb for you free of charge, you will only be responsible for the shipping costs for both directions. I regret to inform you that we do not sell the light bulb for the model IL 50 infrared heat lamp through a third party vendor. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter. Please note that any attempt by the consumer to repair the unit or if to open the unit will effectively void the written warranty. "

So - Its good - until its not. Then $44 bucks + - to replace the bulb and maybe 2 weeks without the unit while in transit and being repaired?

SO the question is - How special is the Beurer bulb and can a third party bulb be purchased? The bulb needed is FSL 1512 made by Feng Shui Lighting in China. I believe the lamp used is a simple ordinary 300W halogen bulb, 118mm long for R75 socket like these.
