If you have a horse that pulls you need to get this clip. This clip allows the rope to slide when they pull and a horse is much less likely to panic if they get some relief when they pull. I have an OTTB that I could never tie, and when I did she would invariably panic. I was afraid she was going to break her neck. With this clip, after pulling a few times and feeling the rope slide to give her release, she rarely pulls now. Even stands tied overnight on tie lines for trail rides. LOVE IT. And super convenient to have around the barn and trailer.
it doesn't slip through nearly as easy or at all

It does work but you have to use only one type of lead rope for it to work. and that's the brand new, soft, thinner cotton style pictured with the product here. If your rope is too thick, too stiff because of use, or braided, it doesn't slip through nearly as easy or at all. I have to REEF on it to get it to slip on the loosest setting with any lead rope I had. So I had to buy some thinner, softer ones that I ONLY use for tying because beyond that I don't like thin ropes. I still use it and its a great alternative to tying off young horses for me.

I have had one before and I loved it. It is not only a quick way to tie a horse but also a safe way. If you have a horse that is easily upset when left tied you are taking a chance that he may pull and break away. This gives him a chance to move but still be tied.
