I bought a few of these to replace the D rings that came with the kits I got. This one is sturdy, nice size ring so it's easy to use, and will fit two ropes if needed. The multiple holes gives you options where to put your screws or nails so you can find the trusses or deadwood. You can also fold this and put it on one side of the ridge if needed, just put both pieces of metal together and put your screws or nails through the holes that will line up.
Solid and secure

Used it for strapping / sheathing a metal roof. With the recommended screws in and blocking you could probably pull half the roof off if you had a mind to. Gives you a good idea where to put blocking for a permanent anchor.
If you are needing this, you are probably going to use it more than once. Get a decent harness for "fall restrain" & "work positioning"; (ie: side D rings) and lifeline setup. Since I have purchased some equipment I don't get on the roof without it. I had a friend doing a fairly simple job that he has done many times but fell and extremely lucky he wasn't killed or crippled for life. Never mind the surgeries, the permanent damage done or the cost. GET IT! Rant done, sorry.
