Built like a tank
Amazon Customer•November 17, 2017
This makes a really really good survival knife, the thickness and high hardness 440C Stainless steel means that it can take a real beating. but for combat it really isn't that effective, the wide tip means stabbing motions will be hard and the weight means that it will be slow. The durability I expect from this is greater than that of my 87$ Gerber strongarm. if you want a knife that will be effective in combat look no further than the Ka-Bar, and if Ka-Bar is not what you want, the easiest way to spot a real combat knife is to look for a round oval shaped handle and thick pommel. All that being said, it would be effective in combat in a pinch, plus the finger guard can be useful in punching motions but I would still rather my much longer Ka-Bar if I knew I was going to fight something. All in all its a really well built survival knife and I bought it for that reason which is why I am giving it 5 stars.
Good knife, I like it

Good knife, I like it, though not the best for tactical, or survival. The finger tang can be painful if your not careful.
Heavy and Ruff.

Very well made, and virtually indestructible. I have an XL hand, and the handle can accommodate an even larger hand. I purchased this with knife defense in mind, but it is too heavy and bulky to be effective. Compared to the Marine K-Bar, I would grab the K-Bar instead for knife defense. Handle area is not smooth and without palm swells, so it will not allow you to maintain a good grip, especially the finger tang, which is not smoothed on the corners. I attached a 550 paracord lanyard, and sized a loop for my hand, which helps in handling the knife. If you need a heavy knife, and will be wearing gloves, and not engaged in combat, I would highly recommend this knife.
it doesn't have to have a popular name to cut

its not an expensive knife, and doesn't have a big survivalists name on it. but if you research the qualities that make up a good knife, this one has them. The knife is thick has a titanium coating on it that make it easy to clean and is a harder grade of stainless steel 440c, its also nice looking. And unless you are going to cut into a Tank it should cut almost anything you throw at it. Don't be conned into thinking you need to spend more money to get a good knife.
