No, this bulb will not warm you up during the wintertime. Its rich, reassuring vintage glow is a favorable brightness of illumination. It is a single bulb purchase well packaged for that little lamp waiting for it. The product looks good even when it is turned off.

I paired this Edison bulb with a Perfectshow Retro light and I have to say I was very pleased with how this looks aesthetically together. Of course being only 40W, this won't illuminate much space, but you are buying this type of bulb for the aesthetics rather than efficiency. It emits a warm orange light that really accents wood tables or desks, so that was an added bonus I had not anticipated when purchasing this. If you are looking at Edison bulbs, than you obviously have something in mind in regards to how you want to use it. Buy it and you'll have quite a throwback experience!
Well worth the price for beautiful lighting, I would buy again and would reccomend it.

If you're the brooding and mysterious type (read: glorified homebody), I would highly recommend these bulbs. Compared to your standard fluorescent bulb that emits a blinding and warm light, a 40W Edison bulb emits a mellow, almost sepia light that will barely light the room. This is the perfect amount of light for navigating your turn-of-the-century studio apartment in the midst of a mid-grade scotch stupor. Some might call it "mood lighting" as well, but who are we kidding.
