My Cigar Oasis Ultra 2.0 is demonstrating erratic behavior:

The Cigar Oasis reports that internal humidity is 60.1%, while the unit is factory set at 70%, but my analog hygrometer says 75%.

That wouldn't be so bad if the unit didn't run continuously drying out the cartridge EACH DAY. I followed Cigar Oasis' FAQ, which suggests water blockage but I doubt that happened with the factory supplied unit, which was pre-filled with distilled water. I have since replenished both cartridges twice, each time immersing the cartridge for 4 minutes, letting it stand for 1 minute and making sure all water was shaken out. Still, the Oasis runs all the time and over-humidifies unit.

I never had any problems with traditional humidifiers, which I only have had to replenish with distilled water once a week, so there's definitely something wrong here. Also, my humidor has been seasoned for more than a year now, and, as the previous, weekly refill schedule suggests, it's not a humidor seal issue.

I have contacted Cigar Oasis about this issue. I would like this to work but I will return this unit to Amazon and swap it out for another, although I'm not entirely positive I want to go through all these hassles again. Will update the review if I do.

Way overpriced and doesn't function like I expected. Just stick with distilled water mixed with propylene glycol in a cup or other container.

This thing supposedly comes filled with water. I had it run for about a week and it was already flashing Low H2O. My humidor was already conditioned. My humidor lid is also pretty snug, but this thing runs for about 10-15 seconds every minute or so. There is no way it needs to run that much.

I am kind of torn here. This unit keeps the humidor af whatever the unit is set that I like. However, from what I have read on the interwebs this unit can be off 3-5% RG reading and actual (I doubt anyone could really tell the difference in a smoke) . For the price that doesn't seem ok To me. Other users are suggesting to use an independent RH meter. Why?? I just spent $100 why do I have to spend another $20-50 to make sure a 100 fan is working? That's eating I to my cigar bidget!

Also my meter says the temp is 79f always. This hasn't changed in a week since I have had the unit.

Pros: easy set up, good fit on the lid, constant RH (If it's accurate?) Quiet, battery back up

I rarely write reviews, but this product has blown me away. We live in a semi-arid climate, average humidity around 45%. I have always had troubles keeping my cigars at the proper level of humidity. The crystals and propylene glycol never worked. The best luck I had was those Boveda Humidipaks but they are expensive in the long run, and I had to keep the cigars with the pack in a ziplock bag. So what is the use of having a nice humidor? The Cigar Oasis Electronic Humidifier is the best product I've seen in a while. I've had it for less than a week, but it works just as advertised. Complete, easy-to-understand directions, and all you ever need to add is distilled water. This will save me money in the long run.

I was tired of the puck humidifiers and Drymistat tubes. I have a small humidor that can easily holds 80 cigars. With the tubes, it constantly fluctuated (Even when I didn't open up the humidor).

I did some homework and found that the reviews were pretty positive for this item. I decided to give this a try. It's been running for several days and I can see the difference! It's constantly at the set-point. If it dips down when I open it up, it will turn on for a little bit and turn right back off again.

Some have expressed their concern about the noise of this unit. My humidor is not next to my bed. I do hear it a little bit when I am close to (And it's running), but it's not overly loud. It also cycles on and off when it needs to.

The ribbon cable was long enough for my humidor. Some reviewers brought up that they needed the longer cable to power their humidifier, which Cigar Oasis does sell. If you do plan on getting one, check out our humidor and see if you will need the longer cable. That way you can order the longer cable at the same time.

I do like the fact that I can fill it up with distilled water (ONLY). My previous humidifiers used PG fluid which I checked to see if I could use that in this one. My research turned up to *not* use PG with this. PG will 'gum' it up in a matter of time and render the cartridge useless. Only use distilled water.

Navigating through the different screens isn't that difficult as well as changing the settings. It's nice that when the power goes out, it will continue to run (If needed).

I have mounted mine on the lid with no issues (Water leaking, etc). When you do fill your cartridge, make sure to check the videos on YouTube. It's pretty easy.

I don't know how long the cartridge will last, but they are pretty cheap if I need to change it out.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. At first I was skeptical with the price, but after running it and seeing the outcome, it's a great investment.
