Thought it was a good buy, but its not.

UPDATE (2018 Apr 11): I originally thought that this was a decent product, however after approximately 3 months of use I started to have issues with the LED lights (as many other people seem to be experience judging from the reviews) wherein the lights will randomly turn on or change colors sporadically. Also if you buy this product, I would not recommend using the little hole in the lid to feed your fish as food will get caught and may begin to grow mold due to the moisture from the aquarium, instead you should lift the kid and feed your fish that way. I would not recommend this product, you would probably be better off buying an 5 gal starter kit from Petco or Pet smart when they go on sale for around $20.
(2018 Jan 19) This kit is a great buy, it is a good size and easy to set-up. The LEDs are bright, and should be able to support some low light plants. I liked that the lights has an integrated timer keeping the light on for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours but must be set every day, you might be better off buying an daily timer to turn your lights on and off everyday. The internal filter isn't adjustable and the flow is a bit weak but was actually perfect for my betta whom isn't the best swimmer.

Filter is garbage

The filter unit began making strange noises after a few weeks. We've tried cleaning it and replacing the filter, running it without a filter (as an experiment), but nothing helps. Not sure how to get satisfaction as Amazon isn't interested in helping.
Update...02-06-18
Amazon continues to be useless and no one seems to be able to find the seller/vendor. Filter is worse now.

The aquarium itself is great! It looks very nice. The bow shape looks wonderful, even if it does cause some distortion when looking at your fish from the bow.
However, the hood is pretty much a piece of crap. It's flimsy plastic and doesn't stay up on it's own. The lights look cool but don't serve any real function. Because of the shape of the aquarium, I can't change the hood, so oh well. Should have thought of that before, I guess.
The filter is... Laughable. It doesn't stay attached. It's also really weak. I switched it out to another, far better filter the second night.
I love the aquarium itself, but I definitely think I'll opt for something a little more expensive in the future.

There are a lot of mixt reviews for this tank. So this review will be base on my the experience I have with this fish tank. I am a beginner, my favorite fish are Bettafish.
This tank will work to house a Bettafish. I have betta fish in one gallon tank, and with good care and responsibility, even a one gallon tank will work for small fish. Do keep in mind that you should only keep one small fish per gallon, at least that is what I was recommended. By small fish I am referring to guppies and other small fish, from experience, any fish bigger the a guppy will not do well on a one gallon tank.
For a Bettafish this works well. I recommends mixing some natural plants and adding hiding places for the betta to hide. This fish likes to hide and the more places it has to hide the more safe it will feel, and it will lost fear of seen you.
If you are housing a betta fish on this tank I do recommends you find a way to cover the filter, or a way to prevent your betta from getting to close. The current cause by this filter when it sucks water in, may be to strong for the betta and it's fins can get stuck. Other then that it works well. I have mine for about a year and so far the lights are working. I don't keep the lights on 24/7. the light are not for 24/7 use.

Good looking tank, no problems

Got this for my first betta. At five gallons, it's big enough for this single fish to enjoy. I put live plants and smooth colored rocks for decoration. The lights work well. Very attractive and no negative issues.
