Works good but does dampen sound level
James✓ Verified Purchase•September 25, 2023
It is working good for me and I really didn't have a choice due to optic sound connections now. But I was trying to stay away from needing a powered device, seems I can't and this one uses a USB power connection. The sound level after going through this is greatly dampened. It's fine to me to be honest but I feel that needs to be known. I had to get it for my Samsung tv and this did not have any issues as far as needing to change any sound output settings so I'm glad it all connected fine. Working great running sound through a pretty old receiver I have.
Works as promised

I have had some bad luck with products on Amazon lately but I am glad to report this is not one of them. The products just works as advertised. No disclaimers or asterisks required. Works perfectly well with my setup. Price is really good, performance is really good, and build quality is, once again, really good. I'd rather get a power brick included than the Toslink cable since I have one already but that's not worth reducing the rating for, just something I wish was an option in the future.
Awesome. It works.

It's an adapter. It works. It solved the problem. I wanted to connect a pair of remote headphones to the TV so someone with a hearing problem could hear the TV without having to turn the volume up too loud for everyone else. This made it possible. Years later, we are still using it.
Nice Little Audio Converter Comes With Cables

Great little device that even comes with digital audio and analog audio cables. I didn't need them, but can see how others may not have the digital audio cable, so a nice addition. The device does not include a remote control or volume control, so I did not rate those. Audio out of the device does need an amplifier of some kind (I used a Bose speaker), with a mini plug audio out. That gave me the amp and the volume control. I like that it is powered with a USB cable, so there is no discernible hum on the audio. Well made and certainly worth the price.
It worked! and worked well

I bought a new tv that doesn't have an analog audio output. I connected my old tv to a classic stereo via an analog (RCA) connection. This was the solution to connecting my new tv to my old stereo - and it works and sounds great. Yes, I know I could buy a sound bar or HDMI receiver, but this is WAY cheaper than those solutions, and my old stereo is plenty good enough to watch old shows while I exercise... Any way, this was super easy - you just need to remember to set your tv's digital output to PCM.
