DO NOT BUY!!
ralph✓ Verified Purchase•August 11, 2023
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!! I had it for exactly 2 year and the temperature remains low and uncontrollable, I contacted the manufacturer and they said I'm out of warranty and would give me a discount. I then told them what's the point of giving a discount on a new one that will crap out in 2 years then would have to buy one again. I should've known better, before I purchased the one I have someone complained about the same exact issue of the temperature being low and would stay at desirable temperature and ignored it. Look into another company, or give Whynter your money. They built this perfectly to stop working right after the warranty expires.
You can't go wrong with this wineador!

Bought mine about two months ago and I've been extremely please with the unit's performance, construction, and build quality. I've placed it in my office, which is somewhat drafty ... temperature fluctuations were causing problems in my 150-count desktop humidor.
Initial impressions:
When the unit arrived, it looked like it had been dropped from 30,000 feet. The outer and inner packing boxes were dented and torn. The unit itself had a dent in the door. So I requested a replacement from Amazon. Two days later, a pristine unit arrived. So be aware of this.
I removed and performaed a full seasoning of the cedar shelves and drawers using Boveda 84% humidity packets (four in a large storage tupperware) for 10 days -- as you would for a regular humidor. I also wiped the interior a number of times with distilled white vinegar and distilled water. This may be overkill, but I wanted to make sure no plastic smell was present. I also calibrated the analog hygrometer using salt and distilled water, even though I have two digital units. I'm also using 65% Heartfelt humidity beads in the container provided.
I started adding cigars about 10 at a time over a week, to allow proper equilibration. I have two 25 count boxes, one 10 count box, and several dozen single.
Two months after:
The wineador is working wonderfully. I actually don't have it plugged in, as the temperature in the office is about what I want; I will plug it in in the spring and summer. The seal of the door is great. Humidity fluctuations are non-existent. I'm actually using weather station RH/Temp. sensors, as I'm an atmospheric scientist; they allow me to monitor remotely when I travel! I have a wireless switch that can turn the unit on, as I was away for a few weeks over the holidays. It really is a remarkable unit and it looks elegant and classy as well!
18-month update:
It is now August 25th, 2016 ... almost 18 months after my initial review! The wineador is working flawlessly; I have had no problems. One thing to note. Make sure you clean the outside of the cooler, especially the back vents. Pet hair likes to collect here. I've added a wireless switch to the outlet and wireless temp./humidity sensor, too (accessible from my iPhone or Mac). If I ever travel for more than a week, I can monitor the readings inside and turn the unit on or off if needed. However, I have never had a problem with keeping the inside environment just right. I prefer 65F and 65% humidity. My house was built in 1929 and is quite drafty. The wineador has been a blessing. Cheers!

I debated whether to go with a traditional humidor or the high tech coolador humidor type for my new humidor, I had quit smoking cigarettes a few years ago and then stopped smoking my cigars too because I didn't want to take the chance they would make me want to start smoking cigarettes again, for a long time I fought and I tried to maintain the cigars at the perfect temp and humidity which wasn't easy here in Utah so I ended up storing them in zip locks in a cool dark environment with boveda packets and cedar strips, so now fast forward 4 years later and I can now have an occasional cigar without worry, so now I want to revive my 100 or so cigars and bring them out of retirement, I needed a new humidor because my wife kinda took possession of my old humidors so I needed something new.
I decided to go with this model, there are cheaper models out there, some are more expensive but most weren't as nice as this one is, one thing I really wanted to make sure the new humidor had was good air circulation inside and this one has that, it also has an air tight seal which is something most traditional humidors lack, unless you want to spend a lot of money for a high end humidor.
The humidor got here a day and a half after I ordered it, I had also ordered a case of boveda 69% packets, and had my wife pick up a gallon of distilled water so I could start setting it up and seasoning it, the package arrived on time and in perfect condition without any damage to the outer box which was a good sign, unboxing the humidor wasnt too hard but it was very well boxed and protected so it wasn't as easy as just popping open a box and pulling it out, I examined it to make sure there was no visable damage, it was in perfect shape, when I opened the door I was greeted with that great Spanish cedar aroma we all know and love, happily there was no smell of plastic at all, just that rich smell of Spanish cedar. I pulled open the drawer where I found the handle and accessory packet that had the handle screws and the manual as well as a second analog hygrometer which appears to be made of solid brass and glass with a stainless back, it was nice that they included a spare hygrometer, I also have a nice older brass and glass hygrometer that I've had for over 15 years and has always kept perfect readings even compared to digital hygrometers, I decided to start the calibration process on all three hygrometers while I sat up the humidor, after I put on the handle I sat it on the table my wife went and bought for it and then plugged it in, I filled the included water reservoir halfway and sat it in the drawer all the way to the back, I also popped in three large boveda 69% packets, one on each tray and the drawer and then I charged up several water pillows with distilled water and spread them throughout the humidor to speed up the seasoning process, all in all I spent maybe 20 to 30 minutes unboxing, and setting it up, filling the water reservoir, and putting in the boveda packets and water pillows.
After four days the humidity was starting to level off in the mid 60's so I gave it one more day, on the fifth day I checked all 3 hygrometers and all were about the same reading, I had put one hygrometer on the top shelf, one on the bottom of the humidor, and the third in the hole on the front of the drawer, so that I could make sure the entire humidor was getting even humidification and it was, so now on the fifth day I started filling it with my cigars, I only had about 100 or so cigars to start off with but there's still plenty room for more so on payday I'll order in a couple more boxes and store them in the bottom of the humidor, I'll probably order a couple cigar samplers too, you can get some really good deals with samples and get to try new cigars to see if you like them, so I'll order more cigars next week to try and fill it up a bit more then it is now
So far I am extremely happy with this humidor, it has a rich Spanish cedar smell which will add to the flavor of my cigars, I love that smell every time I open the door, and it. came with a spare hygrometer too so that I can place one in other areas of the humidor to make sure everything is getting humidified evenly, right now there's plenty room left for lots more cigars, as for humidification I'll probably just stick with boveda packets for now and then I'll also probably use the humidity beads in the water reservoir to keep it from being filled with liquid water, well the water is still liquid but it's held inside of the beads so it won't slosh around and spill or leak out onto my cigars and stuff because the beads keep the water inside and slowly release it to humidify the cigars so it's better then filling the reservoir with liquid water that can spill, anyway I would definitely highly recommend this humidor to anyone that has 300 cigars or less, that lives in an area that is hard to maintain your cigars in, Utah has dry sub zero snowy winters and 100+ Degree summers with high humidity, luckily spring and fall are milder but winter and summer are tough here
The only thing I would change, or Will change is the trays have no lip or sides or anything so I ordered some 1/8"X1 1/2"x48" inch Spanish cedar strips and I'll put sides on the trays all the way around to keep cigars from rolling off when I pull them out, I mean they are nice as they are but honestly they weren't well thought out, I mean cigars are round, they roll when the surface isn't completely level, so the trays really need sides to keep the cigars from rolling off when I pull it out to get a cigar and who needs that? I don't, but other then that I wouldn't really change anything so I absolutely love this humidor and so does my wife, she wants it displayed so everyone can enjoy it too, and that's saying a lot because she used to make me store my cigars and cigar accessories in my hobby room or the family room but never in her formal living room, that's her area to display her antiques and the chairs aren't for sitting, they'd be uncomfortable anyway, they are 100 or more years old so I'm always afraid I'll break them or damage them somehow, anyway it's more of a display room not a room you sit in and watch tv so it's strange she wants it in there with her antiques and other collectible stuff, and as long as her dolls don't spark up my stogies in the middle of the night I'm cool with it...... but seriously this is a very nice humidor and I love it and hope it'll be of good use for many years to come

Get the big one. That is my only regret

I was tired of constantly monitoring humidity and tweaking my box humidors. Summer in Houston is HOT and keeping the house at a constant 70 degrees is not an option. All that said I broke down and bought this about a week ago. I had always wiped my humidors with distilled water to season, but recently read an article about NOT wiping them, but letting them come to proper humidity with a cup of distilled water or beads or Bovida packs. I had all three so I put them all in and plugged in my new cigar cooler. In two days the humidity was at 62% I went ahead and loaded about forty cigars in it (I bought two Spanish cedar trays to go in it too at 7" x 10" x 2" from amazon and it works very well). I must say, it is whisper quiet and a nice looking unit. I had one problem. One of the screws they sent to fasten the door to the unit was NOT threaded. Pretty funny, especially after trying to get the screw started over and over only to pull it out and see no threads. Not the reason for the four star rating. I emailed them and they are sending me the screw. The four stars is only because I have had it for less than two weeks. If it continues to function properly for another month, I will go five stars for sure. So far, I am very pleased with my purchase. That said.....like others said, get the larger one, I should have.
Great for dry places

I live in Hong Kong which is quite humid and the cabinets's humidity just continuously raise. To control it you can turn the temperate lower but it will cause the cigar to fog up once it's out.
If this was a dry place like Canada it would be great as I need only to add water. Now I have to occasionally change desiccant packet.
