This alarm is very reliable, however it is very delayed before it alarms. My 94 year old Grandpa will be out of bed and to the bedroom door with his front wheeled walker before it will start alarming. This caused me great worry because he was very weak and high risk for falling. I would fly out of bed in the middle of the night running to his room because I knew he was already up and in danger. The good news is, it did save me some sleep and gave me comfort knowing I was at least notified that he was up. The only other thing I do not appreciate is is the crinkly plastic sound it makes when my Grandpa is crawling into his bed. Any confused elderly person would wonder what that is in their bed and may try to remove it. It should be a little less noisy. I love the adjustable volume on the alarm and that it is reliable. The thing did flash when the battery was low so I knew it was time to plug it in or change the batteries.

I would say this alarm has been extremelly helpful with respect to allowing us to sleep without concern that my mother is getting up without supervision. I especially like the fact that the alarm is able to be brought to whatever room I am in. Although there are three levels of sound, so, sometimes I just leave it in a nearby room, still able to hear the alarm even if I move among the rooms. As noted in other reviews, there is a 'crinkling' noise when the person moves in the bed, but we have an incontinence pad over the alarm pad, and my mom is undisturbed by the crinkling sound. Positioning of the pad (I used safety pins to keep the pad in place on the mattress) may require a bit of trial and error and will depend on the person's sleep habits, and speed of rising. I would say this purchase was totally worth it for our situation. I also purchased the ac adapter, as others had written that the cost of battery replacements was expensive. The adapter has worked out well.

This has been a life saver. Alarm is easy to set up and reliable. It allows me to sleep peacefully at night while knowing that my relative will not be getting out of bed without my help. We use it day and night. The effective, but pleasant sounding chime alarm can be heard at every part of our house, but just to be sure I have been taking it with me when I am busy and distracted. Even if I have to get up during the night, I can go right back to bed knowing that the alarm is on duty! It's so important for the caretaker to be well rested and this setup allows for that. I was able to dismiss all of the night nurses who were here just for the purpose of making sure my relative did not try to get up and fall. This is saving us a ton of money in nurses fees. Absolutely wonderful product. Exactly as advertised. My Dad has dementia and has to be supervised when out of bed. Place it in the middle and it sounds when he stands. We placed it under his shoulders and it sounds when he sits up. Unit has not failed to sound and has not false tripped. Receiver can be anywhere in the house. We sleep more sound due to this device. I would purchase it again and would recommend.

This product was a lifesaver for me. My father had Alzheimer's and would get out of the bed all the time. Yet he was not very stable and would fall. This product warned us if he got up. The beauty is he could move around in the bed and as long as he did not totally release pressure off of the pad it would not go off. It is not overly sensitive to movement so it would only alert us if my father totally removed pressure from the pad. The nice thing is the receiver can go 100 feet away and still alert you. This is very easy to use and highly recommended.
