Wonderful Stuffing Material!

I ordered the Organic Raw Cotton to make a new/replacement bolster for my little dog's bed. After 5 years of washing, the old bolster was coming apart in my washer. The original was poly filled and I wanted to make it out of more natural materials. I sewed the bolster out of muslin (I had purchased a bolt of the muslin fabric here on Amazon) and then bought 2lbs of the Organic Raw Cotton to stuff it. I have added a photo of the inside of the bag of Raw Cotton I received (as I was stuffing). I didn't clean it, and for the clean freak that I am, I didn't feel the need to clean it because it was just some plant material. I used the entire 2 lbs. because I wanted it kind of firm like the poly was. I also added photos so you can see what a bolster is, and maybe get a reference for how much one might need for a specific project you might be working on. The bright white and decaying bolster in the 2nd photo is the poly filled. The ivory colored bolster, closest to the doggie in the 2nd photo, is the new muslin and Raw Cotton filled. Stuffing the muslin was super easy with the cotton because I pulled it apart then stuffed a snowball size in. This loosened some of the plant matter and made it super lofty. I think it turned out better than the original, and of course, Bing loves his bed and jumped right in when it was complete (3rd photo).
It's what I expected.

I will be making fiber bracelets quilted in the style of 13th century armor jackets.
As advertised and got here pretty fast.

I bought this with the idea of providing nesting material for the birds . . . until I read more about the type of material you should and should not provide.
Don't get me wrong; there's no problem with the cotton. It's raw, it's clean, and you get a fair amount.
However, as far as other uses, I have nothing to say. I have a lot left, so I don't know what I will do with it other than keep offering it to birds who don't know any better.

Arrived later for reenactment, but will be great for the next ones!

Slightly longer fibers would be a bit easier for children when learning the concept of spinning, but this is soft and great for adults and older children's introduction to one life skill that was an important part of their distant ancestor's lives.
Lots of VM

This is a great product so far, but there's a lot of veg matter in it: small pieces of chaff and occasionally something larger like a seed. I'm new to using cotton fibers so I'm not sure if this product is better than others on the market. I will probably order it again because it seems like a good price for what I'm looking for.
