Wish I had thought to look for this type of support years ago. I've had ACL surgery using my patella for the repair then years later another meniscus repair which has caused my knee to act up with improper knee cap tracking as well as meniscus pain not allowing me to play sports often times. I've always had a conventional larger support which greatly hinders movement, nor really focuses on my issues, but with this much shorter design it is awesome. The crisscross bands are smart providing perfect support then the half circle padded area does its job to help knee track properly and just enough pressure on the meniscus area without causing any pain. My knee had been popping out and very sore for over a week along with unable to fully bend upward but immediately was able to the moment I put this support on, couldn't believe it. In addition, after wearing for a couple of hours when I took it off my knee on its own was tracking better with no more meniscus issue either. The support was able to realign everything only having to put it on when it acts up or I'm about to do an activity. Some reviews complained about the seam in the back which it sounded like the company was going to address but apparently didn't as it's absolutely horribly uncomfortable. It's the one reason I could only wear it for a short time until I thought to throw on a Tommy Copper sleeve I had which is like a wearing a nylon and that solved feeling the brutal stitching of the seam. Seriously, why not invert the seam, who cares about looks, it's about comfort, fix this issue. Other than that I'm thankful for the multiple functionality and support this product provides.

I'm a 65-year-old surfer, and arthritis is taking its toll on my knees. As the pain of popping up on my board has increased, I was beginning to think my wave-riding days might be numbered.

This product saved the day for surfing in warm water (i.e., without a wetsuit). The patella stabilizer keeps my kneecap firmly in place, virtually eliminating the pain produced by the slightest twist. I'm 5'10" and 180 lbs, and the medium fits just right. I bought two: One for surfing (see photo) and the other for dry land. When wearing the brace in big surf where I'm getting bounced around a lot, I have to periodically adjust the velcro straps to keep the stabilizer in position. Out of the water, I rarely have to make adjustments. Wearing the brace under a wetsuit is uncomfortable -- too tight. (I might try wearing it over my suit to see what happens.) But for everyday walking-around use and warm water surfing, this is a great product.

Both of my knee caps are to the outer side of my leg but one is worse then the other. The worse one, the band is uncomfortable. I feel like the pad is digging in. I might have to keep playing around with tightness but then I kinda don't feel like it's trying to keep the knee in place when I loosen it. The other one is totally fine with it. I have a personal trainer to help build the muscle around it to keep it in place so hopefully it will get better wearing it.

Torn meniscus .. I had my surgery in January. I'm 5'4 135 lbs .. Been a couple days now and i'm loving the brace. Ya girl thought since she lost some weight since my accident I was a small .. Soon i'll order a medium LOL but that's fine. I know it looks a lil snug in the photo but really it's well made with the neoprene material so it feels really good.
