Perfect for a patella fracture!

Bought this based on other reviews after I fractured my kneecap and was told I needed to be in an immobilizer for at least 4-6 weeks. I've worn it for a full week so far (except to bathe) and have had no discomfort, slipping, or other issues. Easy to use, adjust, and take on/off. I prefer to wear it over a light bandage or legginfs, but it could be worn on bare skin comfortably. I'm currently not supposed to bend my leg, so I have it locked to 180, and there is a little give, but not enough that I don't feel secure. I had an appointment with an orthopedic specialist today who was very impressed with the product and asked where I got it and how much I paid, and he was blown away by the quality for the price. In his words, "We'd probably charge you a few hundred bucks for that thing"! I'll be in it for a few more weeks and will update if any issues arise, but overall, I've been very happy with this, especially for the price.
The right brace works really great but the left one not as good, so I give them a 4 out of 5 stars.

I use them to be able to get up and walk I have bad knees and I can't have knee surgery cuz I'm not old enough so I ordered them to help me get around better and they work for that part but the left brace the velcro straps on it keep letting it slide down off my knee and I have to keep pulling it up but it stays on for the most part most of the day outside of that they're pretty good braces I have no problem at all with the right one and that's the one I have the most trouble with my leg is my right knee so I'm good to go.

I am pretty sure that this brace is of really good quality. My wife had back surgery which cause her to have no feeling in her knee. So her knee buckles on her. With at being said, the brace is really nice. It has any setting that you need and it is sturdy. And it would be stable. The problem lies not with the brace, but she could not keep it from falling down on her leg. Might be the shape of her leg. Don't know. I put it on really tight. But it is really worth the money and the try. This is not a bad review. Just our personal experience.

I like the fact that the entire hinge "pouch" can be removed as well as the straps. This should improve durability when washed, and because the straps can be positioned where I want, I can stabilize the brace further.
When it arrived, the straps were attached near the edges of the brace. This permits the hinge to move outward slightly when kneeling or bending your knee 90 degrees. I found that by moving the straps inward, closer to the patella, it helps prevent this movement in the hinge.
The ability to prevent hyperextension, or normal motion beyond my comfort zone is also very helpful to me, and it helps reduce the normal pain and swelling I get from my osteoarthritis by the end of the day.
As far as comfort goes, I can wear it all day comfortably. It is as comfortable as any neoprene brace. There are braces with a thinner material that are a bit more comfortable (less hot), but I have not found them outside a medical supply company.

I have hEDS and this is the only knee brace that has worked for me so far. No other knee brace I tried gave me the side stabilization and hyperextension support I need, like this one has. It's not perfect, if I'm wearing it all day I have to readjust it every couple of hours or my knees will hyperextend, but it's pretty good for the price and it's very easy to readjust since the gears are exposed unlike most other braces.
