They make a very fine olive oil from California olives, of the usual mild flavor, and it is one of my three faves of that flavor type. But, for this robust blend, they use foreign olives, since the California olives are good, but not for the robust-loving types. I have only had one other robust olive oil this nice, and I can no longer find it, so I am glad to find this one. Of my three faves of mild olive oil, one maker also made a robust oil, but it was not good at all. That is the tricky thing with robust oils, more flavor, yes, but a lot of the flavors that become so very noticeable are not quite pleasant. With this oil, it is quite strongly flavored, but all the elements of flavor or yummy.

Taste is superb. I use every day for warming foods in microwave or sauté of all items.

This is the best all-purpose olive oil on the market. I often experiment with other OOs for variety and the fun of it, but this one consistently delivers on the perfect balance of body, great flavor ( not too fruity) and the ability to hold up to higher heat. It's great for salad dressing and to drizzle over avocados, tomatoes, etc. Highly recommend!

One of the few olive oils recommended by Tom Mueller, who wrote the definitive article on olive oil is 'California Extra Virgin Olive Oil'. Most of the other olive oils out there come from other countries, are sent to Italy where they are fortified with soybean oil and beta carotene. No wonder the taste is rarefied. Count your lucky stars you can find this wonderful olive oil on Amazon. The rest of the olive oils on the list I did not recognize, so I assume my local grocery stores and food COOP's do not carry them.

This olive oil is light, and tastes like olives. Check the label to make sure you have the right stuff.
