Not long ago I tried a cheap $7 shoulder or "ammo" bag instead of my backpack for everyday carry of small tools, medical, and concealed carry in some cases. The shoulder bag was ok and very easy to carry but lacked the room of my backpack so I set out to find a vintage styling satchel or messenger bag. In comes Berchirly which I found on a top 10 Youtube countdown, and so far I am not disappointed at all it has a beautiful canvas and leather look which I love as I enjoy this type of rugged look. But where this bag excels is space there's a ton of room I carry a journal, bible, agenda, tool pouch, med pouch, electronic pouch, pens, pencil, small dop kit, during the winter some gloves and a beanie and it's not even half full; I fit a GoPro with multiple accessories on occasion and still have room for hopefully a dslr some day. Everything stays organized and easy to grab thinaks to the open setup and I could still easily slide in a small laptop but I am old school and enjoy pen and paper. There a small inside zipper pouch perfect for a small lotion tin, altoids tin, and chapstick. There's 4 outside pockets the two large on the front you can see that have a ton of room and two small side pockets for lint roller, cologne, sunglasses cleaner and really anything you like. The two large from pockets have snap buttons the two sides are secured with leather straps that are beautiful. The front flap is secured with an easy access magnetic button that opens to a zipper to keep your belongings safe. The strap is rather comfortable even with a little weight as my bag goes everywhere with camera gear and odds and ends. A small pad is attached that you can see in the pictures, while looking good with a leather accent it is actually very comfortable. I typically don't carry it long distance as it goes from house to vehicle to work or stays in my vehicle if I'm running errands but I wouldn't hesitate to keep it keep on my should for extended periods if I used it as a camera bag as I plan to I'm the future. This bag has changed my whole outlook on shoulder bags.

This is a really nice bag. It's actually the second one that I've bought. I bought the first one in OD green to use as a weekend bag and it worked great. I was in a hurry and grabbed it to use as a laptop bag for work one day and liked it so much that became it's new job so I ordered a new one to use as an overnight bag. It's well made and holds more than you'd thing it would. It is also very comfortable to carry. I gave it a 4 star rating for 3 reasons. First the small side pouches with a leather buckle closure are nice but the strap is so long and there is no where to tuck the excess (minor complaint). Second the magnetic closures on the main flap don't thrill me. They've held up well but don't feel as secure as an actual buckle closure (but it does give quick access). Last it scream for a small handle on the top so you can move it around easier. Once you've adjusted the shoulder strap it becomes a little unwieldy if you just need to move the bag like in and out of your car.

I love this bag. I use it as a "travel purse" to hold all of my stuff that won't fit into my regular purse. The bag and shoulder strap are very sturdy. I have not had any trouble with the clasps falling off as others have complained about but I can see how this might happen if you aren't careful. I purchased the coffee colored one and the color is as pictured here. The strap stays on my shoulder much better than other bags/purses that I have. It would be even more awesome if it had some pockets in the main compartment area. Also, a slightly stiff purse organizer that could be placed in the bottom of the bag would be helpful to keep small items arranged as well as help the bag keep its shape. Overall, I am pleased and would order again.

I bought the XL size to replace a very old Jansport messenger bag that I used for work. I love the look of the bag and the XL size has enough room for my 15" laptop and other stuff that I carry around. The canvas is light but seems durable and the shoulder strap is wide and comfortable. The bag doesn't have any padding for my laptop however I solved that problem by taking another reviewers suggestion and inserting a laptop sleeve inside the bag to protect my laptop. Bought this as a replacement for a twenty five year old eddie bauer messenger bag. Looks fine. I found the magnetic primary straps to close the bag to be fiddley and difficult to secure. They also seemed to get knocked off easily. Lacking in smaller compartments too but knew that when I bought it. Just not as functional as my old bag but it is exactly as described.
Update:
Rarely use this bag again it is as described just find straps fiddley and lack of functionality (one big bag vs some smaller pockets as well). Result is that this stays in closet.
