Sturdy construction, bright output, difficult to wire
Bull 30290✓ Verified Purchase•October 21, 2023
I bought these to use as cargo lights in my utikity trailer, but also ended up using two as panel lights on my generator. They work great, but I discovered a challenge while installing them.
Pros:
Sturdy metal body, fully potted interior to secure wire, easy installation, healthy wire lead length, bright light output.
Cons:
Wire gauge is EXTREMELY small - like 30 gauge or something. In the attached pic, note that it shows the tinned leads from the factory; the actual wire is made up of about 7 hair-thin strands that together are even smaller than the tinned bundle visible at the tip. While this may be fine for the load of the LED itself, it is very difficult to work with and makes connecting to standard automotive wire difficult. The ease of install of the body is more than offset by the difficulty in connecting the wires.
The wires are fragile because they are so thin, and they're so small that they won't work with any standard wire connector (butt splice, ring terminal, etx) used for automotive wiring. Even tinning the wires with solder didn't help. I ended up having to use a euroblock set-screw terminal to make the connections, and even then the tiny wires needed good strain reliefs to keep from breaking. If I had it to do all over again, I would probably choose a different product with thicker wires to make installation easier.
Hopefully the manufacturer will either increase the wire gauge used (even 22ga would work), or include a splice that will connect the hair-thin leads to standard automotive gauge wires.

I deliver pizzas part time and needed some extra light backing out of all those strange driveways. I bought a pair of external mount hinged LEDs at my local auto parts store about 2 years ago and they've been riding in my "trunk" for that long as I couldn't bring myself to mount them, they would have looked ridiculous and would have come off the first time I tried to go through a car wash (not that I do that very often). So for a few years I've been on the lookout for something with a more practical mounting option and these fit the bill perfectly. I drive a Yaris hatchback and just found a correctly angled spot on the bumper where there was nothing behind, drilled a hole, poked/screwed these in, and wired to one of my reverse lights. Yay! I can see the edge of the dark driveways now and feel confident these aren't coming off. They are very small and unobtrusive but give off more than enough light. I bought the 8-pack. 2 went on the Yaris, 2 will probably go on the motorcycle handguards, 2 are definitely going on the truck, and I'll have 2 for extras in case any decide to crap out.
Not a bad little light here...

I have a '67 Lemans and being a convertible, there is no dome light with exception to a couple under the dash (that don't give off light well). So I bought these little guys to install into my custom made center console to "light" it up inside when I wanted and they did do just that! They're small but they pack a little punch. I installed 4 of them in the console (front, back & sides) and now you can find what you're looking for when you turn on the dome light. They're not overly bright, 4 of them did the trick for my interior.
Yes, the wires are smaller but I had no problem splicing & soldering them to 16 gauge automotive wires. No problem.
The only problem I had: I had 1 fall apart when I was snugging up the nut on the back. Hardly any pressure was placed on it when it came apart. The other 4 installed did not do this but figured I would mention it as I noticed this is a big complaint (the reason i bought an 8-pack vs only 4 that I needed).
Overall, I'm very happy with them. Hopefully they'll last for years to come.

Bought these to ad lights to my son's Raptor 90 quad. I used 2 in each of the faux factory headlights, based on some YouTube videos.
Pros: decently bright for how small they are.
Cons:
a. ridiculously small wire gauge made stripping them and soldering them a big Pain in the Neck
b. one of the LED bulbs out of the 6 in the packaged does not work at all. I know I should have checked first but I only found out after I had done the basic wiring splices and installation into the faux headlights. I had to start all over buy cutting open my heat shrink tubing to get to the wires, snipping them off and re-soldering a new one. Set me back about 30 minutes.
Overall very happy how they turned out. and my son loves that he can extend his riding time in our field beyond sundown.

Well made, good value by the dozen, very bright and highly recommended.

Surprisingly bright white light without evident coloration (you can't look directly into one if you're holding it, even in a bright ambient light) and well made, though you may need to add a little more silicone rubber to the cable entry point to ensure they're water-tight (a couple of mine had voids.)
The beam spreads at about 45 degrees off the center axis, so spreads in a 90 degree cone, more or less uniformly.
At 12v this "9 watt" lamp consumes 0.1A making it 1.2 watt lamp in actual fact. Thank goodness because 9 watts in this package would get burning hot and melt the guts in no time. Where do they get these numbers from? Maybe they mean as bright as a 9 watt incandescent, which I reckon it is.
The head diameter is 11/16" and the thread diameter will fit a 3/8" panel hole. Threaded length is 7/8" so, allowing for the nut thickness, that's a maximum panel thickness of about 3/4".
I've been using mine for only a few days without a series resistor so can't speak to durability but if you keep them cool by mounting in virtually any metal panel to dissipate the 1.2 watts they should last a long time, like any cool semiconductor.
I use these as side marker lights on my m/c trailer and as close-up illumination around my machine shop heads.
Anyway, I'd say you most definitely get your money's worth, a good little light and I would happily buy again. Highly recommended it they suit your purpose.
