I purchased this for my father, he is a double amputee and stuck in bed most of the day as he adjust. He has Hospital Bed frame that is adjustable so I did TONS of research trying to find the BEST mattress I could for him as he has been stuck on the generic hospital mattresses for over a year now. I have to say I was very happy with this purchase but my Dad was REALLY HAPPY with this purchase.
He wanted something firm and something that would hold shape, something where we wouldn't be sinking in the bed and offered some stability. This mattress did it all for him. He wanted something with coils as he felt that would hold shape best but on an adjustable bed frame a mattress with coils is not possible. He was able to get up and sit up with ease, he sleeps were much better and comfier on this mattress and he wasn't sinking in which was very important to him especially with Physical Therapy.
This mattress took shape quick, and as others have said the top is soft almost a gel like feel but the core itself is firm so if you are looking for a firm mattress this is it. We only had for a few days but as of now this is "the best sleep I had in over a year" my dad's exact words. Seeing him being able to sit himself up and have the confidence to be able to sit up, stay up and on the side of the bed for over on hour was the best gift I could have given him. His previous mattresses had a lot of movement during his PT session's which would throw him off some. So the mattress not only offers him a comfy sleep it also offers him the stability he needs during his PT session's.
**Sooo... we had to adjust the size of the mattress, a standard hospital bed fame is 34 inches wide, and this mattress is 39 inches wide. It was NO PROBLEM. Seriously, I took an electric craving knife YES, the kind you use at Thanksgiving to cut your turkey and sliced right through the mattress with ease AND straight as could be. It took me about 20 minutes to cut the mattress. The mattress is holding shape just fine and my Dad says even now the mattress is one of BEST he has had to sleep on.**
So YES this will work on a hospital bed frame, it WILL adjust with the different positions an adjustable bedframe has to offer and YES this mattress can be cut with NO damage being done and the mattress will hold the SAME shape as the day you purchased it.

Very poor quality. Had for two days and the foam already started ripping. Too much of a pain to return. Save your money, invest a few more bucks on better quality

It comes tightly rolled inside plastic and then inside the cardboard box. I thought when it arrived no way is this going to turn in to a bed. I pulled it out and it enrolled itself and immediately began to rise . Takes about a day and a half for the stained it completely undo itself and it's definitely worth the wait I love this bed so comfortable best night sleep I've had in years .and my back doesn't ache any more. I purchased a twin I'm 6 ' tall and I think it may be approx. an inch longer than a standard twin... my feet do not hang over the edge ..
Definitely worth every penny I highly recommend this bed.

We chose this to replace the cheap OEM mattress in our travel trailer. (When I took the old mattress out, I folded it over to get it out the door and carry it up to our storage room. It was a cheap mattress.) I was a bit leery when it arrived in a 14" square by 5 foot long box. A mattress? In a box?
We took it out to the trailer pulled it out of the box into the trailer. Now I have a 14" diameter by 5 foot long Boudain sitting on the foot of the bed. This ain't never gonna work. Ain't no way.
WRONG!
After carefully splitting the wrapper and unrolling it, and removing all of the wrapping, the mattress started to ....re-inflate. There's no other word for it. After 5 minutes, it was about 85% of it's full size. My wife couldn't stand it anymore and climbed on it and lay down. And moaned, lol. IT's that comfortable. I had to explain to her that it still wasn't finished, and that it would continue to expand over the next day or so.
We finally got away for a weekend about 2 weeks later, and Oh, my! the difference. Neither one of us woke up in the mornings with a sore backs or shoulders like we did with the mattress that was in there before.
Fast forward a couple of months, and we decided to replace our travel trailer with a newer, bigger one.
We kept the mattress. I put the fold-over one back in to trade-in the trailer. I ain't stupid, lol.
This mattress is good enough, that I am thinking about one to replace the $1500 king-size in out bedroom. Thinking seriously about it. We'll see.

WOW! This is so much better than I expected. After checking detailed info on SleepLikeTheDead.com, I learned so much more than I expected, which allowed me to save a LOT of money with this purchase and I have NO regrets! It really IS more comfortable than the Tempurpedic in the other guest room. I LOVE the cooling gel and have not had any "hot flashing" at all! I have been sleeping on this mattress for approximately 4 weeks and am looking forward to purchasing a queen for my home!

The mattress is medium-firm and I am able to sit on the bed without sinking and check email on my laptop for about an hour before going to sleep. It has very good motion isolation which means it absorbs movement and does not transfer it across the bed.

The only warning I have is that this bed's "Off Gassing Odor" (refers to a chemical-like or musty-like odor that a mattress may release when it is new due to its composition and packaging) is quite strong. However, I have an incredibly acute sense of smell. That being said, it took a full 10 days before I could leave the sheets on -- I dropped pure, essential lavender oil on the bed while taking the sheets off during the day to alleviate the smell.

Also be advised that a minimum of 24 hours to allow the bed to fully expand is recommended by the manufacturer.

For the price, I don't care one bit if this bed doesn't last for the full 10 years that the warranty provides for. Seriously, if it lasts 2 years, I will be satisfied and buy another one when needed. I wish I had known about this bed before I purchased an extremely expensive, "volcano" (heat & sweat inducing) mattress years ago!
