Easily powers my 15" CV subwoofer and the footprint is pretty small and the tranformer is toroidal so no hum like stamped plate units.
Same size as PBS Sonic 2i plate amp

So this fit beautifully into the my PBS Sonic 2i sub. The dimensions were about 1/8" smaller so no carpentry work needed. Fired it up and sounds great. Lots of control on both the crossover as well as volume. Hoping it continues to work as it currently is and that I don't experience any of the defects that a few have written about. So at least out of the box it is exactly what I was looking for. I use the subwoofer to add dimension to my music...I don't pump it up to shake the room. That being said, cranking up the volume does push a lot of air and so it does have kick....but that's not my need for a sub. In any case and fingers crossed that it's quality is decent. My PBS died after about 15 years and at $75 for this replacement plate amp I couldn't have even had a shop put it on their bench for that price. And when there are only 2 wires to connect it was a no brainer.
Good amp in need of a minor modification.

I purchased this app to replace a blown sub amp on an energy 10 home theater subwoofer. I was very excited when I received this amp as it appeared well built with beefier components than the amp that came with the energy sub. Modifying the sub enclosure was easy and had the amp up and running in no time. The reason for my four star rating is due to the fact that when I drove the sub hard, I could hear air rushing out of the 0-180 phase switch. The enclosure was already ported so this was a bit of a let down. I was able to address the problem with a bit of hot glue to seal the opening around the phase selector switch, however this is not something anyone should have to do on a new amp. Sound quality and output are good.
I'm an electronics engineer and this amp is far superior to the original Velodyne

I replaced a failed amp in my Velodyne Sub with this Amp. I'm an electronics engineer and this amp is far superior to the original Velodyne. It has far better heat sinks and better quality components than the original amp.
