Just a little more fun than a plain ol' kong
Smithsprincess✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 14, 2018
Yep, it's pricey; but it's fun. It's easier for my dog to get all the peanut butter out this than from the Kong. (Kong still has a valuable place in our home, though.) Only a bit of butter in the very bottom center. The little prongs in the this toy add just enough challenge to keep my dog a little busier for a little longer. We drop a little kibble or fruit in the bottom and cover that with P/B. I hesitated about buying the large size to go with this because, yikes, it seemed like way too much to pay for plastic. I'm already glad I did it, though. It's nice to have two sized to choose from when we want to just do the fruit and P/B thing. But when we want to let Tillie play with her food, it's wonderful to be able to lock the two sizes together and let her slap them around the house to win her kibble (with a couple of surprise treats mixed in for adventure). If you can scrape together the extra, go ahead and buy both sizes because you'll probably forget how much you spent when you see how much your dog likes these toys. We have a 30-pound Wheaten Terrier who is not a destructive chewer.
Great toy for long term use.

It asks what I loved the most, and the least? Ummm....I don't hate anything about this toy or it's bigger version. I have power chewers and they don't tear this up, although they did figure out how the tabs inside work in like two seconds, so now if I'm not making a combined toy that's closed on each end, I have to freeze something in the finger tab things or else they gobble their treats in five seconds...

The very best part, I know this material is safe for them to have in their mouths, and so I will be transitioning future toy purchases to this brand as well as Outward Hound/Kyjen.

This toy is a bit expensive to not come with both parts... I was under the impression when I purchased it that it came with both the large blue piece and the smaller green piece, but I only received the blue. There's really no way to put actual treats in just half of this toy, so I'm taking away one star. That being said, my puppy loves the rubbery material this is made of and enjoys playing with it even without any food or scent incentive, so I didn't end up completely empty handed.
Product is pretty simple in terms of what your getting

Product is pretty simple in terms of what your getting. There are grips on the interior base of the toy that will hold a larger dog treat rather then a pellet but for a dog with a longer snout it is pretty easy to obtain. Its easily washable though don't quote me on dishwasher safe. My complaint is the company is expecting you to buy two of different sizes to make it a more challenging experience for the dog. So buy one and watch your doggo get the treat in no time or double your money and maybe have a better experience. Perhaps it would be better as a licking/ chewing toy as the rubber like material is pretty durable. Regardless of the matter I am glad I bought it online as its more expensive in local pet stores.
Pug approved!

Don't be fooled by it's boring appearance,

I originally bought the small and large Toppl as a puzzle for my bigger dog. Parker is a 36 lb Feist mix. He is a destroyer of toys. West Paw is one of the few brands that holds up. I bought them because the small and large pieces fit together, and Parker loves puzzle toys. This one was no exception. He's a whiz, pulling them apart.

What I didn't expect is how much my little Pug would love it. I'll admit I was skeptical of reviews that said, "My dog plays with this, even with no treats inside." Really?! Yep! Maya loves this toy like no other. As a Pug, her favorite game is chase. She will chew on antlers, or bones She has the "S" shaped West Paw toy for tug, but it doesn't even compare to how much she loves this one. She will play with this for hours. Seriously. I put a little wet food inside one day. She played with it for hours, chewing, and carrying it around. I got her the big one because her flat little face often doesn't fit into cups. The big one works for her, and she loves it. . Don't worry, she quickly got her own. I wish I had found it sooner.
