Awesome looking bag, great way to carry DSLR and laptop
Turbodelta✓ Verified Purchase•January 26, 2024
I bought this bag after I was left disappointed in another canvas camera bag.
Reasons why I chose this are pretty simple. The canvas material looked good from the pictures, and also the leather straps were not the typical PU leather which are terrible.
-First impressions are the size is good, I chose the XL size, as I plan to carry camera gear in it, mixed with a 15" macbook. So the size fits this purpose.
-As a camera bag, this is unpadded, so it is not a 'camera bag' from the get go. If you plan on using it to carry just a body with a lens and maybe a couple filters/memory cards this will work in it's current state. I did this with a previous canvas bag until the straps broke from the bag.
-As a real camera bag, the plan is to buy a rectangular foam camera case, that can allow me to organize my body, and two lenses. This will fit nicely in the bag.
-Internally, the bag only has 1 zip, the zip is quite big, so I would possibly recommend carrying the laptop in a sleeve before sliding it in or out to avoid scratches. The zip pull is fabric so that shouldn't be an issue.
-Externally, there are two pockets, perfect for filters, a small notebook etc, these are secured using two non magnetic snap fasteners per pocket. Good strength to them, compared to the magnet ones that hold main flap of the bag.
-The main compartment is also secured with a big zip, however, it has open ends, so in terms of weather and loose objects, it's something to keep an eye on.
Other than that, the leather straps and corner guards are nice, they seem to be weathered, and absorb scratches and marks, so it makes for a nice effect over time. The leather is also on the inner side of the shoulder strap. There is also a rear strap one could use to attach something to, I am still looking into what this could be. If there were two, the use would have been even better, say a tripod.
I did notice some stitching issues, hopefully they won't lead to issues down the line.
I think this is a little more expensive than the entry level canvas bags, but after having tried them, this definitely feels better, and seem so be better built, which is something to keep in mind when you are putting your camera or laptop in there.
Would recommend 5 out of 5!

I am very pleased with this bag. I ordered the XL size, which is perfect for my 17 inch laptop. I'm a bit of a bag enthusiast, and I can tell this is definitely a higher end bag. I saw some of the reviews were questioning the quality, so I'm thinking some of those people got inferior copies. I bought mine from Kim's Republic, the vendor you buy from matters a lot on Amazon.
This is a great bag to hold a laptop, a notebook or folio case, and a few pens and other smaller items. I have managed to store a Springfield Armory XD(m) 3.8 compact in a kydex pocket holster in one of the front pockets, but it was a little tight.
I like the look of this bag, it is a classic military look that looks fashionable instead of tactical. I don't generally like it when people are wondering if I am carrying a gun (as bags with MOLLE tend to suggest). I could see someone using this in place of a briefcase in a day to day office environment (big meetings and other more formal events might require something more traditional).
The strap is very comfortable. I didn't add a lot of weight, but what weight I did have in it was barely noticeable on my shoulder. The buckles have magnetic holders on them, so you don't actually need to buckle and unbuckle them every time you want to get in a pocket.
Overall, I am very pleased that I bought this bag. It is just the right size for me to be useful without being overwhelming. It has a very decent quality to it.
I have added pictures of how my XD(m) fits, as well as a 17 inch laptop with a folio and a spiral bound notebook, all three of which fit easily with enough room for more things.

Great travel bag

Took this bag to France to carry my camera and other items. It proved to be of the proper size and durability for all my needs. Although the straps on the front do not really buckle (uses snaps instead for quick access) it was still secure enough with the zipper inside to prevent an attempt by nefarious individuals at picking my pocket (bag) so to speak. It would be more secure if the straps actually buckled, and I have modified it so that they do so now.
That being said, I use this bag extensively and would recommend it to anyone who requires such a bag for travel.

Great so far.

Great leather material that's looks a little rough. it gives it an older vintage look. The size is perfect for what i need for my laptop and books. its very wide and large enough for my 15inch laptop and some books and a pencil case. it has extra compartments inside and outside of the bag. the strap seems really durable. seems like it will last long. I'm still worried about how this bag lasted for some other customers but we will see. so far its the best messenger bag I've owned yet.
update, it is a bit uncomfortable as just a shoulder bag and can get pretty heavy with one MacBook, a binder with a half package if paper in it, a not book, a very think gift bible, and a small pencil case. has a lot of storage though. but still holding up and i still love it.
update (march 24 2017) still holding up very well. not only now fits my laptop, but fits a largish pencil case, a 1 inch binder filled with papers, and a journaling bible in a large folding case along with another book. i can it two water bottles on the sides. i can also fit a bunch of small tubes of paints (i go to an art college) in the front pocket along with brushes, earbuds, and my wallet. in the other front pocket im able to fit my charger and cord as well as some extras like chap sticks, pens, sticky notes, and a few papers. keeps everything dry as well.
it gets heavy but is comfortable on the shoulder. the adjusting straps get a little loose every now and then but kind of to be expected. I still absolutely love this, if not love it even more considering how long it has lasted so far.
