I was looking for an ankle brace that would provide sufficient support but also have a quick on/off feature instead of my current lace up brace. I love the support of my lace up but was hoping for something convenient and easy to remove at the beach. I need the support walking to and from as well as walking on the beach but don't want the lace hassle. I wear a 5.5 (US) shoe and this is supposed to fit as small as a 5, however, it is pretty big, which is probably why I am not getting the support I had hoped for. I have worn it around the house, with and without a shoe. I feel this would be perfect for someone with bigger feet and maybe even a bigger ankle. There was no XS option or that might have done the trick. I will give it a shot at the beach next week but also carry my other brace just in case.
FYI, I had a subtalar fusion in February of this year.

Its OK. Every Brace has a different feel and purpose.

Wore it two days. It gave really good ankle support. It has enough material on the back to help prevent my shoe from rubbing on the back of the heel. Large band aid was needed to prevent blistering by the shoe. That was the fault of my diabetic shoes. On the 2nd day I notice after taking it off that it was chaffing the skin on the outer brace under the sock. That did not happen with the other Aircast brace. It may be be due to the strap not being tight enough since some the swelling went down during the day and I do a lot of walking and pushing during the day at work. I just have to get use to wearing and adjusting it more. Though one is tight slipping the brace over my 9 1/2 HH size foot. Feels like it is strangling my foot when I put it on, but that goes away after it settles into position. BTW. My injury includes smashing my heel and that is causing additional discomfort not related to the brace
Yay Andy Murray....this ankle brace WORKS!

My son has a high ankle sprain (probably from soccer) and we had a heck of a time finding a brace that would provide the over all support he needed. Others were not high enough on his ankle or were simply an Ace bandage type sleeve. This one from AirCast is PERFECT! He felt the difference the second he put it on. I've seen Andy Murray playing tennis matches with one of these on each ankle and he's terrifically mobile. My son can now run and play all the sports he wants, basketball, soccer, lacrosse without any discomfort. Would highly recommend this brace.

I brought this as a back up. Same as the one I received at the doctors office for half the price. Same company and style. Be sure you are getting the same make and model as the one from your doctor. This is great since you do need to wash the brace after a few days of wearing it 24/7. It takes about 12 hours to dry since it must be hand washed and air dried. You can't go that long without wearing one. So it is great to have one on hand. As I said same as the one I received from the doctor at half the cost.
This item looked great because it's much smaller than an air cast

I have been alternating between an aircast and walking boot for 3 months for a sprained ankle and was very excited to downgrade to less support (thought that is an upgrade!!). This item looked great because it's much smaller than an air cast. however, the bars on both sides for support are extremely hard and did not fit or adjust to shape of my ankle, Not only was it not supportive in the right places but it hurt. This is due to the sizing and how it fit my ankle. and I do not think it will fit most people. It is probably better for men with a wider foot than women. It was worth a try and I wish it had worked because the idea is great.
