The 110 film carrier that the scanner manufacturer forgot
A. Stern✓ Verified Purchase•August 15, 2023
Negative Solutions has designed a film carrier for those of us who scan negatives on a quality flatbed scanner (in my case, Epson V600). Manufacturers provide film carriers for 35mm and sometimes 120, but not 110. You need a quality carrier that holds the negative flat (film wants to curl the short way) but just above the glass, so that the scan is looking at a flat plane and the glass is not interacting with the film, and this product does exactly that. (It actually does it better than the carriers that Epson provides for 35mm!) The company has other carriers for additional common sizes that scanner makers forgot, too. To those who say this is overpriced for a bit of plastic, you do not appreciate the design work involved nor the extremely fine tolerances that must be met for the flattening mechanism to work. But work it does, and I think it's brilliant. Thank you to Negative Solutions for recognizing the manufacturers' failings and for filling the gaps.
Glad I bought it, but wish there were some changes

The media could not be loaded. (I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive. It should be no more than $10.)
At first, I was very disappointed in this expensive piece of plastic because I had it in the wrong slot, used the wrong template, and had it face up instead of face down, therefore making the images blurry and terrible. It does not come with any instructions or photos. After I emailed the seller and he kindly sent me the link to his instructions, I got it right and now I am happy with it. I don't understand why he didn't include this with my order.
Anyhow, by using the 110 adapter, it makes it much easier because the frames will always be in the same spot, so just a minor adjustment of all the frames together, then scan. If you place the negatives in the same exact place each time, you could skip the preview, making it faster. You will not have to keep selecting each individual frame if you use the adapter. If you don't have the adapter, you will have to select each frame because the negatives will not be in the same place each time you switch them out.
For the proper placement, you need the template that has "B" on it. Place the negative shiny side the same way that the flat side of the adapter is, slide it inside the allotted space of the template, then place the adapter face down, so the rough side is up. Place inside the big empty space in the template. It will not fit snug, but just enough to get a good placement for scanning. If you place it upside down, the photo will be blurry because it will be too far away from the glass where it gets scanned.
I wish that the design was a little different. It drives me nuts that the dividers are in the wrong place. When placing the 110 negative, you have to slide it in even further than needed in order to properly line up. If the dividers were shifted just about 1/2", then it would be perfect, or just get rid of the dividers altogether. Also, if it was designed to have two strips, side by side. Then 8 frames could be scanned at a time, instead of four.
I have included a walk-through video, and some photos in the review:
1. Video
2. Photo showing where divider placements should be instead of where they are.
3. Screenshot of scanned negatives in the adapter.
4. Screenshot of scanned negatives without the adapter, directly on glass.
4. Proper placement.

Works Great on My Epson V600!

I'm on my 2nd V600 scanner and could never understand why a 110 template wasn't included. I tried scanning without, but the results were always lacking. I stumbled across this product by accident and thought about it for awhile. It seemed like a lot of money for some cheap plastic.
I finally figured it was worth a shot, since I couldn't find many alternative solutions and it really isn't that much money. I'm so happy I did. When I first received it, I couldn't figure out how to use it. Luckily, it came with link to a PDF that includes another link to a YouTube video. That was worth the money right there. I was up and running within a half hour.

I had some software problems and the person who helped me went above and beyond to remedy my issue. I would highly recommend purchasing from Negative Solutions. Their 110 negative film adapter is great but their customer service is Outstanding! I was able to scan and view negatives from 1977 through 1982, which was awesome. Thank you Negative Solutions. 110 Film Holder does the job
Weatherwiser✓ Verified Purchase•June 28, 2023
I recently purchased the Epson Perfection V600 Photo flatbed scanner, but it did not come supplied with a 110 negative film holder (as advertised). This aftermarket 110 film holder did the job after first reading through the online instructions and FAQs. It worked using both the "Professional" and "Home" mode on this scanner and worked best scanning one image at a time once the film strip is in place on the flatbed. A little expensive for a small piece of plastic, but delivery was quick and I am happy to be able to make digital images from old 110 negatives. The holder is actually a 2-piece design which the inside slide piece is designed to help keep the film strip flat or somewhat flatter when negatives are cupped or curled. My 110 negatives were all slightly cupped and it really didn't help much keeping them perfectly flat, but they still turned out great.
