Reasonably good-great for dieting-high protein-no extra sugar

I've been counting calories since May 3rd. I got weighed at doc 169.8 lbs Yikes-I was in the chain of type 2 diabetes...That did it for me. the only way I can diet is to write down everything- I keep a little notebook and stick to 900 to 1100 calories. To be successful, I need a mind set. I felt fat and thick and "thick of it".. so ..so far it's working.. As of June 22, I'm down 12 lbs. about a lb a week. slow but sure.
I eat an exte n bar for breakfast and sometimes during the day. Lemon, berry are a bit chewy. The Apple is crispy and tart. pretty good with coffee.. Anyway, they are good for my purpose and help get me through the day.

I just love this flavor (the Peanut Butter)

This is the only Extend Bar I can eat, besides the chalky-tiny-after-tastey lemon, because the rest have cocoa as an ingredient and I don't have any caffeine. I get that the chocolate flavors would be inaccessible to me but why the fruit flavors? I hope Extend will consider for the future. I just love this flavor (the Peanut Butter), though I wish it didn't have Splenda in it. How about a version with no fake sugar. I don't need the sweetness or the side effects. But aside from the Splenda, the Peanut Butter Bar is literally the only one I can stomach and tasty too. Thank goodness for this one!
Good (not great) substitute for a Snickers

I eat half a bar every night as my bedtime snack and I'll dip it in peanut butter for an even more peanuty taste. I feel that it helps keep my blood sugars in better control during the night when I sometimes have a problem with hypoglycemia. Us diabetics have ways to compensate for not being able to eat certain foods and this is one of them. Yes, I really would rather have a Snickers bar but I really am trying to be a good little diabetic.
The sweetest of the extend. A welcome change.

The best of the extend bars. The yogurt lemon and yogurt strawberry are hands down better than the regular. I can barley palette the non yogurt. The lemon is the sweetest of the favors and keeps you satisfied for quite a while. I go through a box every month.
Tasty and nutritious

I like these a little tooooo much. I usually order two flavors - this, and the chocolate caramel. I am diabetic and if I'm in a rush and can't put together anything remotely healthy I know I can grab one of these bars and they more than satisfy the sweet-craving I get from time to time (okay... frequently. Ahem).
I have tried other bars in an attempt to save money but nothing really compares. I do like the Kind bars though, but it's the Extends I'll reach for most often.
They've helped me stick to my A1C goals, for sure.
