It worked as advertised for me. Removed the old plate with a screwdriver and replaced it with the GATOR and in less than five minutes all was well. It put it on the house door that leads to the garage. Before the plate installation, I had to deadbolt the door or it would come open on its own. This wasn't a good work-around even for the short term because I had to always use a key to get into the house from the garage. I'm glad that I bought this product!

This product is great. Glad I bought this instead of spend hours putting two new holes into my frame and filling up the old holes for the screws and digging a bigger hole for my door knob to fit the strike plate. You get the picture. Not sure why stores don't carry them in my area. Took me only a minute to install. Two thumbs up

CAUTION:
Each package comes with two strike plates. They are different. On the back of the package the instruction will say to put the plate A on top of plate B, then install it to the frame. Installing part B in optional, therefore I STRONGLY recommend using only plate A to see if it works first instead of putting A over B. I put plate A over plate B and closed the door to test it, and feel it was a little bit tight. So I pulled the door slightly to get it to close. So happy to see the door click together I opened the door and realized that it won't open. Door won't open because installing the two plates on top of each was too thick and couldn't allow the latch bolt slip out of the strike plate. Because of that I locked the kid in the room who was studying at that time. Had to grab the ladder, climb into the windows, remove the door hinge, and free the kid which took over an hour to do that.. Whew... But I still like this product.

Every door I've ever installed always has the same problem, the latches never match up, always play when the door is closed. Since I just installed a new main door and plan to install an electronic lock I need to take that play out so the deadbolt would be lined up perfectly. This did the trick. The door handle latch closes perfectly, after a little adjustment, which is what this latch restorer is designed to allow. This now allows the deadbolt to function perfectly with no hangups, easy in, easy out.

We had a VERY expensive gate made and installed about two years ago. Living close to the ocean and with the recent rains caused the gate to sag and the hardware inoperable. We had the company come out and told us they would have to remove the gate and adjust it... which all sounded very expensive. I was lucky enough to come across this door latch and it saved us AND our gate! It was just what we needed and the gate hardware latches and locks perfect. The price was great was the perfect fix.... easy to install and took about 5 minutes. I will be ordering more for our other gates just incase. Anyone having issues with doors and gates that won't close or lock properly due to misalignment try this door latch first.

Perfect exactly what I needed. The sellers that flipped my house didn't line up the cut-out with the hole so the standard plate didn't line up correctly to easily lock the door. It would lock when cold but when it warms up it won't lock. The large opening with this plate solved my problem.
